1955 Beetle Sedan For Sale

I apologize for the smaller photos...the owner's family sent them and while
they
show the car well, they arent quite the size that my tired old eyes like
to ponder,
but it seems quite apparent that the condition of the car is very nice
indeed.

The restoration looks to have been a ground up affair
as the suspension and chassis are nicely detailed.

The car appears to be a late 55 model as it has the features of a US spec
1956 model such as the taillights and bullet front turn signals.
The US spec "Towel rail" bumpers are another clue to it's age.
But as you look deeper you will see all the proper 55 and older things
are in place.

Basic black, nice and glossy.
Always garaged and cared for like an artwork.

I went back into my archives and found the Hot VW's article on the car
and it indeed looks just the same now as it did then.
A very nice quality restoration for the time.

The wide whitewalls look great against the deep black paintwork.

Well detailed trunk area...proper large mouth 55 fuel tank.

Spare tire and wheel are matching.

Detailed well in the spare tire area.

Nothing like a red interior to jazz up a black car!

Proper bat wing steering wheel.

Very clean dash.
Original Blaupunkt AM radio in the dash.

Seats are the correct 55 era seats, redone in red with black piping.

Nicely fit carpets with custom floor mats.

View from the back seat.

Headliner is nicely done with the door post covered properly with the matching
vinyl.

Carpeted under the seat in back as well.

Proper early shifter and handbrake and the early pan with the heater control
behind the handle.

Single visor.

Engine is a very well detailed 36 horse

Proper early round regulator and big nut generator.
Correct air cleaner as well.
Rear apron is a later model but has been modified to appear correct
with the single tip muffler.

Very clean underneath as well.
Transmission was rebuilt at the time of the restoration.

Nicely detailed chassis.
In 1987 this car was the cream of the crop, winning awards at all events
and really kicking the restoration level up a notch or two for the day.

Super clean.

Check out how clean the suspension is.

Underside of the engine lid is clean and has the proper back lens under
the plate light and such.

Its a very clean car that was well restored by a true VW fanatic.
It has a well documented history as a top level restoration and a magazine
featured car.
Granted that was over 20 years ago now...but it sure looks like time has
treated the car well.
