1960 VW Beetle Ragtop For Sale

This Florida based looker is one sweet ride.
This car has been in its current hands for about 10 years.
During that time the car was completely disassembled and treated to a complete body off restoration.

The car was media stripped to bare metal, all rust areas were repaired properly with clean metal, not
just caked with filler.  The body and paint was done professionally and the finished product is excellent.
The restoration stretched over a period of about 4.5 years and the owner states that he really went all the way with it.
Since completion it has been well maintained and garaged and there is full photo documentation of the build available.

The ragtop sunroof is excellent and a custom 3/4 length roof rack was built and fitted toward the back of the roof
to allow for a clear view out when the sunroof is open.

Lots of fun subtle custom details such as the speaker mounting in a bit of vintage luggage out back.

Headliner is done in a soft velour type material, the exterior of the sunroof is German cloth.

This is a European model 1060, so it has the semaphore turn signals

And yes they work!!

Running boards are excellent with bright clean trim.
Accessory jack plug is a nice finishing touch as well.

The custom roof rack allows for excellent clearance for the sunroof when folded back

Very nique rack, I really like it.
The problem with roof racks on sunroof cars is that they always block the sun from coming in on you
and this gives you the best of both worlds...you can work on your tan without "stripes" of shade
and you can load up your trinkets and coolers up top.

Nicely done, really looks like a factory accessory

Out back the car has the correct "snowflake" taillights and smooth clean blade bumpers.

The engine compartment, firewall , front trunk and fender wells were all sprayed in a paintable undercoating
and then sprayed body color, and the result is very nice and clean, while also having a bit of protection and sound deadener to
what would normally just be thin metal.

The engine is a clean and strong running 1600cc single port with  12 volt alternator,
mechanical advance 009 distributor, aluminum crank pulley, etc.
The top end of the engine was rebuilt at the time of the restoration and it runs great.

The transmission and brakes were all rebuilt as well and the gearing in the trans
set up for highway driving with a 4:12 ring and pinion, etc.
Wiring harness was all new at the time of the restoration as well.

Here you can see that nice textured finish on the inner panels.

Chrome wheels and very good rubber are fit to all four coners.

Nice clean details even in the spots you don't normally look.

Porsche style headlight lenses add a nice custom touch.

Sealed beam headlights behind the lenses. cool accessory horn grilles as well.

Under the front hood has the same treatment as out back.

Fender wells also have the same "Raptor" lining and then painted in the body color.

Modern audio unit tucked in the glove box.

Original body tag is present

Clean in the spare tire well area.

Hood latch and hardware looks well detailed.

Temporary space saver stile spare on a stock steel wide 5 wheel with a hubcap just for good looks.

Very clean in here!

The interior is excellent as well with a mega smooth and clean dash, stock steering wheel, custom
bamboo floor mats and a performance shifter.

Nice stitching and materials in the inside

Very well done seats with a simple and unique design.

Door panels done to match and the chrome trim really is a nice touch as well.

Excellent!

The radio hole and trim holes on the dash have been filled and shaved smooth.
This gives the car a very clean appearance inside...just "slightly" modernized style wise, but
not to the point where it looks out of place.  It is a very nice subtle approach to customizing and I love it.

Love that ragtop!!

Very clean machine!

The paint is high end Sikkens light blue pearl with extra fine metallic.
The paint code was taken from the Lexus 8U9 formula and it looks gorgeous.

Single "quiet pack" exhaust sits low, as does the whole car.
Note the cleanly filled exhaust holes in the rear apron...very nice.

The car really looks sweet.
Great colors, nice stance, and some wonderful custom touches.

In closing this is one sweet ride.
Very well done car inside and out as well as underneath.
Factory sunroof, semaphores, great custom touches here and there.
A truly tasty package that is going to make some lucky new owner very happy.
The car is priced right as well, one heck of a deal.
