1960 European Beetle Ragtop For Sale

This is a pretty neat little car.
Its a driver, not a show car but as you can see it's got a clean and sweet look to it!

The color is very sof and appealing...kida an oyster grey color.

Body is clean and straight, decent quality paintwork but not concours level..

Front end is lowered a bit, good reflections down the side.

I love this photo...a good postcard perhaps?

Aftermarket replacement bumpers.
Nice wide whitewall radials.

The sight down the passenger side.

Black stayfast canvas sunroof cover.

Decent fit to things in general

This is a European model car so it has the semaphore turn signals.
They are hooked to a flasher so they pop up and down when the signal is on.
I prefer to see em stick out straight and stay there myself but it's kinda fun to see em flappin.

Euro headlights.

All new window rubbers and such.

Good clean uncut dashboard.

Clear needle speedo, nice VDO fuel gauge.

Blaupukt radio is a cool one.

Clean under the dash.
Could use some fresh pedal pads...Empi trigger shifter.

Another shot of the E,pi shifter.
A little pitting in the paint on the handbrake.

Seats have nice unholstery on them.

Back seat is clean as well.

Headliner is clean.

Sunroof car which is ever so cool.
Windshield has recently been replaced (sticker was still on the glass)

Nice clean new door panels.

Shot of the door jam

Great original documentation on the car with all the service books and importation materials.
The yellow book is for the Blaupunkt radio.

Owners manual and the pouch.

Shipping documentation and customs forms from 1960 when it was imported to the US.
Original owners were in Colorado.

Really cool paperwork.

Here's the original sales invoice.

Now 47 years later...sitting in the Southern California sun.

Under the hood was painted too...a little overspray here and there, but it looks pretty clean.

Very straight front end.

No signs of any front end collision damage.

Wiring looks pretty clean and intact.

Out back it has had some mild upgrades/
Gone is the original 36 horse and in it's place is a good running
dual port 1600 with dual carbs, 12 volt electrics with an alternator.

Overall pretty clean on top...car seeems to run well (only had a short test drive).

Proper rear apron. The little rubber bumpers were painted over and the decklid seal needs to be installed.

Bottom side of the engine is a little wet but the pushrod tubes look recent...its obvious is has had some work done
on it recently. No heater for you east coast guys...just the straight header exhaust system.

What I really like about the car is that it is a very solid one underneath.
No signs of any welding or panel replacement, all original under here and pretty darn solid looking.
I see just that one little spot right to the left of center in this photo...and thats about it.

A little banged up under here, some dents in the pan, but still pretty solid.

Fender wells look nice and solid too.
There are some small details on the car that may need to be attended to like the
decklid seal mentioned above and the missing fender bolt in this photo.
Its these details that can take the car from being a clean driver as it sits to something that would seem"
at home at a VW show, etc. I dont think it will bring you home a trophy, but you will collect a lot of smiles.

Another good shot of a normal rust area on these cars...and this one is solid.

Its pretty happy looking dont you think?

So...in closing this is a very clean and fun little car, very solid basis under it all and the original documentation
is a big plus. A great weekend toy or occasional driver. Its got a great look to it and Im sure whoever gets it will
have a great deal of fun with it.
