1966 Custom VW Beetle For Sale

First of all, it looks to be a 62-64 body, but mated to a 66 chassis...registered
as a 66.
So it has the benefits of the earlier style body, with the newer ball joint
front suspension.

The car was restored a number of years back and the current owner has revived
it after a long sitting period and has
it back on the road and ready for fun.
Its not been driven much since storage, so once back in daily use, t may
need a little tinkering
but overall it looks to be a good solid car with nice looks and decent
mechanicals.

The paint is pretty neat but it does have some flaws. There are some chips
and scratches here and there and a couple spots
where the paint looks just a bit blotchy or discolored...due mostly to
the pearl effect in the paintwork...it's noticible in the right light.

The paint and body are certainly presentable as is, but I wanted to mention
the little flaws so you know what you are dealing with.
Chrome looks to be in nice shape overall.

Amber bulbs in the parking light spot look neat at night wth the body color.

Glass and rubber looks good.

Wolfsburg Edition emblems are a neat little modern touch.

Pop out rear quarter windows!

A couple of the center caps and lug nuts are missing...tires look decent
tread wise.

Clean blade bumpers look nice...the overrider holes have been filled in
the fenders.

Amber topped taillight lenses.

Nice shiny exhaust system poking out back.
There is a pretty good ding in the rear apron right above the collector...musta
dragged tail somewhere.

Nice fat rubber out back.

Body looks quite straight.

Front wheels do stick out a bit past the fenders and the front end is at
stock height.
If you are the lowering type...a narrowed beam and dropped stance would
make quite the change to the looks.

Under the front hood is pretty clean and was painted to match.
A trunk liner would sure make it look a bit nicer...or perhaps fit a carpet
kit.

Looks very straight in the spare tire well.

Fuel tank

under the hood

Lid down and smiling...

Little paint blister happening in front of the turn signal here... there
are a handful of little flaws like this.
Overall it looks nice but as you look closer you see this sort of thing.

A few rock chips in the apron but very straight

Stock ball joint front beam

Disc brakes up front are a nice upgrade

Floorpans look very solid

Fender wells were painted.

Trans is a little juicy underneath...some clean up would help.
Note the urethane trans mounts and sway bar

Header exhaust stystem...so no functional heater.
Disc brakes in back as well!!

Engine size is unknown... but it is sure not stock.
Lots of chrome and extras, neat aluminum firewall.

Case was painted gold and looks clean, but the paint is lifting in spots.

009 distributor with performance cap and wires.

Gold coil matches the paint color quite well...

Dual "Kadron" carbs

Streetmachine emblem is pretty cool

Ok...lets peek inside

Nice custom interior.

Neat steering wheel and billet aluminum gauge panel with many instruments.

Blaupunkt head unit

Glove box pull tab accessory

Glove box...

Stock fuel gauge mounted in the glove box.

Old school Hurst shifter!

Caroets show some staining...pedal assembly looks to be a late model unit

Seats are nice and sit quite low in the car...fully reclinable too

Rear seat is really slick!

headliner in nice shape

Big speakers mounted in the luggage area.
Outer speakers cut into the tray itself...would be better in a box perhaps.

Big amplifier and yellow neon lights.

Door sill plates and accessory trims on the jam

Door panels look very clean

A pretty neat car.
Perhaps not a show car any more but it still gets the looks and waves.
Leave it as it is or modify it to your liking.
Either way there is a lot going on here for the money.
