Early style body panels and details all the way around!

This car features an air ride suspension that allows it to raise up for
driving or drop down to ground scraping levels.

The interior of the car is done proper vintage as well with the early
painted dash and all the trimmings.
Note the later style steering column...thats really the only clue that
it is newer than the 60's in this photo.

Banjo steering wheel, thermometer fuel gauge and early speedometer.

Here is where you see some hints to the real age of the car like the
large fuse box and it's location.

An early sunroof was grafted in from a pre 64 Beetle to further mess
with your head
(and to allow the sun in of course)
The interior is done really nice with vintage style colors and patterns.
More on this in a little bit...

The air ride suspension set up looks very slick.
Check out the custom front beam and bags.
Also notice the Porsche pattern disc front brakes.

IRS rear suspension and Porsche pattern drilled and studded rear drums.

High end audio system uses a large amplifier up front in the trunk.
The white part you see at the base of the photo is the air tank for the
suspension system.

Headliner done in tan to match the seats...a shade bit wrinkly it
appears.

The banjo wheel and bamboo parcel tray are great vintage touches.

The early style "Euro" fluted headlights are quite pretty.

Out back is a top level built performance engine with all the best
equipment.

the two tone panels and early door mechanisms are another fooler.
Also the car has power windows and door locks!

Shoulder belts for the back seats as well as front.
Check out the rear deck with speakers.

The air tank and compressor sit where the spare tire would fit
originally.

Lots of upgrades wherever you look such as the remote oil filter.

The 1776cc engine features a Scat crank and rods. Engle 110 cam. CB 044
heads. Lightweight flywheel. Total seal rings on the second groove.

Engine specs.

It all fits in nice and tidy and is nicely detailed.

Decklid seal fits on the lid...not the body as stock.

The pop out rear quarter windows and nicely grafted in "Street Beat"
ragtop are a fantastic combination.

Radio is an am/fm cd mp3 player made by Pioneer. Model # is
DEH-P51000UB. There are two 5 1/4" Kicker 3 way speakers mounted in the
kick panels.
The rear box is 3/4 mdf and houses a 12" Kicker subwoofer and two 6"
Kicker 6x9 3 way speakers. There is a Kicker 300 watt amp mounted
under the rear seat. Also mounted under the left side of the dash next
to the steering column is a remote to control the subwoofer. The amp
in the trunk is a MAS 1000 watt unit that controls the front and rear
speakers

Here you can see the air ride suspension set up pretty clearly.
The rear airbag mounts are non conventional and are secured to a 3/8"
powdercoated steel plate mounted to the body.
Seems to work just fine and has no issues. Rear suspension is
powdercoated in Blood Red and polyurethane
suspension bushings are used through out, front and rear. Right now I
have 2" bump stops installed to keep the
fenders off the side of the tires, 7" rims rear, and also to keep the
engine from hitting the ground if it should
suddenly lose air. I had 1" bump stops in but it would allow the
aforementiond to happen and I didn't feel like
fixing it if it did. The shocks are shortys and work within the travel
of the suspension without bottoming out.
Torsion bars have been removed. Rear bearings, wheel cylinders, brakes
and drums are new.
The front end is narrowed 3". Painted with silver rustbullet. Lowering
ball joints installed along with dropped spindles.
Disk brakes. The control arms are tied together with threaded rods and
bearings are at the ends so that the suspension
can work independently The front bags are air springs or whatever you
want to call them. 3 gallon air tank along with a 3/4 hp
compressor, air gauge and auto oiler. Powdercoated in almond. The
switch to turn on the compressor is hidden in plain sight.
It is relayed through the wiper switch on the dash, since the "73
column aleady has the wiper switch on it.
Air switches are pneumatic and 1/4" lines. Single dual needle gauge in
dash. Needles are red and green and the panel
just below that, letting you know which buttons to push, also has a red
and green dot to coincide with the needle color to
avoid confusing the front and rear switches Car is a little bouncy to
drive, mostly noticible on city streets. Most of it
depends on how much air is in it. Also has a bit of over steer. Bump
steer is minimal. All air lines are securely clamped to avoid chafing.

Underside is cleanly sprayed with undercoating.

Very solid body and chassis.

Here is a detail photo of the subwoofer mounted behind the back seat.

A glove box you could actually put gloves in if you like!

Washer fluid bottle is hooked to an electric pump that actually sprays
the juice on the windows like it should!

Hood release has been put in the early location...relocated here from
the glove box where it was originally.

Remote for the power locks and alarm.

A Porsche space saver spare is included.

Wolfsburg crest and early style fat body trim.

Kicker amp mounted under the seat.

Fuel tank was powder coated.

Kick panel speakers

Hazard light switch and knob.

Now we are getting into some of thre shots of the build up of the
car... check out the extent of the work
done on this car...this was a true father and son labor of love here!

Feelin mighty LOW!

In closing the car is a pretty sweet machine.
It has been driven only a few hundred miles since completion and is
ready for a new home
and to wow the masses at the bext VW event. So much effort went into
this and a massive amount of money as well.
You couldnt build one like it for the easking price!!
