1973 Volkswagen Beetle For Sale

This absolutely gorgeous 1973 standard Beetle is located in Texas.
It is the result of a true labor of love by its meticulous engineer owner.

The car is brilliant all the way through.
Extremely attractive color combination and wheel choice.
Excellent fit and finish.

This was a full body off restoration with everything attended to.
This is the level of restoration that if you paid shop rate for the hours invested, the cost
would be astronomical.

Out in the sun that paint just glows!

It really is an impressive car.
It is not common to see this level of restoration applied to a 70's era VW
but I find it very refreshing.  The 68-up Beetles are fantastic cars and
I think they have been greatly underappreciated for many years.
Super comfortable and fun drivers, still oozing that happy Beetle character
and they are a bargain in the scene today!
While early examples have been climbing fast in value and desirability, in many cases
well out of the range of most enthusiasts, these "big window" cars are where the fun is!

1973 was the first year for the "elephant foot" taillights and the last year for the thinner bumpers.
In 74 the "shock absorbing" bumpers were introduced and the design was much heavier as a result.

1973 was also the first year for the big curved windshield on the Super Beetle models,
while the standard Beetle such as this, retained the same windshield glass that has been in use since 1965.

1973 was a special year with many one year only details.
I think as time goes on, it is these little bits that will attract people much as the one year only details on the 67 models.
Its all progressive refinements along the way, but it is fun to have a car that is a little special and stands out from the "Beetles swarm"
The front seats in a 1973 model are  unique to the year as a prime example.
The seat back shape differs from years previous and after.

The interior on this car is beautiful by the way, done in a tasteful tweed and vinyl combination.
The dash has also been detailed nicely with paint matched glove box door and speaker grilles which
helps give it a slightly older vibe inside.

Everything is fresh and new inside and nice subtle modern upgrades have been made.
The audio system is new and of nice quality with speakers mounted below.
The center console is a nice touch and the rubber floor mats protect the new carpet.

The owner has installed interior lighting under the front seats that give a very welcome light to the car when entering at night.
There are also blue lights fitted below the car to give it a presence at the local cruise nights!

Behind the back seat on the rear deck you can see additional speakers for the stereo as well.

Modern retractable seat belts have been cleanly installed for safety.

Door panels being done in a two tone design such as this also helps bring a little of the earlier Beetle style to the car.

Excellent condition.

The engine is as clean as the rest of the car and it runs fantastic.

This is the cleanest stock late model engine room I have ever seen!

Stock 1600cc, runs like a top.
The only changes from stock with the high quality aluminum belt pullies.

Here are a few process shots to show the car as it is coming back together.

All of it, so clean and so well done.

Modern sound deadening material has been applied to the chassis and inner body panels
for a very quiet and solid ride.

Proper padding as well under the carpets

Disc brakes up front and stock drums in the rear.

The owner has provided us with photos and files on the restoration that are the most extensive I have ever seen.
Each and every little bit of it was photographed along the way.  It really is otherworldly.
As an example there are 17 images relating to the headlights themselves,  11 images of the hood latch installation,
and at least 150 in regards to the interior, not including the dashboard!

Do you get where I am going with this?
This was a truly fanatical and focused build for this man and the results of his efforts and level of detail
are extremely evident in the finished product.

This is no normal 73 Beetle

Nice wheel choice by the way with the aluminum version of the old "Sprint Star" wheels
and the chrome lugs and Wolfsburg crest center caps are perfection.

Basically this is a new car inside and out, everything has been touched.
New wiring throughout, all new body seals and trim, clean hardware,
quality finishes throughout , it is an impressive build.

The owner is snapping a few more photos for us to add of the front trunk, headliner and completed dashboard
so that we can show things in even more detail.
I'm sure they are all going to show the same level of care that he has shown every step of the way.

You might find a bunch of 73 Beetles for sale on the market today
but you wont find others quite like this.
