1964 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe For Sale

This Florida based 64 Ghia is a nice driver quality car with a well known history and a solid body and chassis.

Its not a top level show restoration but it has been kept very stock and proper

The original window sticker is still with the car which is wonderful

Sold new in Miami Florida on May 21st 1964 to Angelo Pappas who traded in
a 1962 Oldsmobile!
"Loaded" up with white sidewall tires, undercoating, radio, outside mirror and seat belts!

With an added $139.80 in extras, the grand total was $2486.84 according to this supplement.

Its a clean car inside out and is still in the correct Sea Blue paint color, repainted about 10 years ago.

Interior is all fresh and looks wonderful

Very nice inside

The paint is holding up well but it is not perfect.

Steering wheel has a couple thin cracks, but the dash looks excellent.

Very presentable!

There are a few small bubbles starting along the lower edge on the passenger side down low.
Nothing serious, just superficial.

The seller states that the drivers side door needs to be color matched and repainted as it is off a shade.

You can see the color difference here in this shot.

Nice fit to the front hood, car has never been hit in the nose like most Ghias seem to have.

Bumpers are new and in great shape.

Nice fit to the engine lid as well..a very straight car.

The thin whitewalls look great and are near new radial on the original two tone wheels.

The engine is reportedly the original but was rebuilt in 2012 with
NOS NPR 83mm big bore kit (now 1385 cc's )polished original std/std crankshaft,
rebuilt original connecting rod, original flywheel and rebuilt original cylinder heads.
New camshaft and German lifters. 1600 1.1 rocker arms (replacing the original 1.0 rockers).
NOS German 40 HP muffler. Engine runs awesome!!
Electrics have been converted to 12 volt.

New horns

Really quite solid underneath.
Right rear corner of the floorpan has been replaced at some point in the cars life but the rest remains
original and solid.

The original dealer applied undercoating is still holding up.
Not a bad investment for $19,95!

Here you can see the replacement section

Under the engine is pretty clean.
No major leaks.

The engine number is just visible in this shot and it matches up with the original window sticker...
this is a numbers matching car!!

Some additional wiring added for the radio...but the rest is nice and clean.

The car has 5 owners since new and everything works in the car except for the clock.

Fuel tank was recently boiled out and professionally treated.

Nose looks amazing on this car!!

Wow!

Nice and dry

Brakes have all been gone through with new hoses and such.

Engine room looks very clean

Trunk looks great with the liner in place.

In closing this really is a very good car.
The history with paperwork and matching numbers engine are a very big selling point.
It is nice and solid and is an excellent runner.  I think a stop by a good body shop for the door
repaint and a good color sand, buff and detail will transform this car into quite the showpiece for not much money.
It is priced well keeping the flaws in mind.
