Kubelwagen Replica For Sale

This is special opportunity to acquire an extremely faithful, yet practical rendition of the WW2 Type 82.
The best of both worlds, the classic looks but built to run reliably and safely operate in today’s modern traffic.

An immense amount of fun to play with, top down and windshield folded.
This car is a blast!

The owner of this car is a true enthusiast and previous owner of a genuine Kubel.
He went to painstaking lengths to chase down the original details and parts to make the look as authentic as possible.

Parts were sourced from all over the world  and the overall finished product is stellar.

Modern radial tires on 15" wheels, but with the cog wheel hubcaps.
The fuel filler was built to us the original style 100mm large cap.

Authentic graphics and markings on the body.

Fully functional and authentic style top in quality military canvas with the leather straps and all.

The "Notek" light is the genuine article and is fully functional.

Unit and tactical markings are for the Luftwaffe’s Fighter Wing 53 (JG 53).
Modeled after an actual Type 82 belonging to JG53…right down to the same license plate number!

Great period spotlight off the passenger side.

From this angle the slang term for the Kubel..."the bucket car" makes perfect sense.

Great looks , top up, or top down.

The side curtains are a great addition as well.

Top material detail.  Excellent shape overall, but the owner states that there are a couple of rub spots
from folding the top up and down.

Awesome!

The build of the car was completed in 2010 and has been driven less than 6000 miles since.
The condition is very good with only the most minor signs of wear.
Always garaged and well kept by a long time fanatical owner.

Perfect for war re-enactment events as well as cars shows, parades and pleasure drives.

Very very nicely done job with this one.
The attention to detail and use of correct period markings are detailed parts really make it one of the best I have seen.

The chassis for the car is a 1963 Beetle and is registered as-such.
Mechanically it has all been rebuilt and functions properly.

Chassis is solid and has been treated to a nice stout undercoat to keep it that way.

New TRW steering box.
Beam has been greased properly, everything is fully sorted and ready for use.

Not a "trailer queen show car" underneath obviously, but this was built to be a driver.

Great exhaust system!

Turn signals are fitted front and rear for safety and to pass inspection.
They are operated by a separate switch than the semaphore signals which are fully functional as well.

The car is located in the state of Virginia as the license plate suggests.
In an easily accessible suburb of Washington DC.

Here you can see the semaphore lit up and erect!

The dashboard in the car is as accurate as you can get.
Sourced from Eastern Europe and fitted with the correct switches and controls,
this looks wonderfully correct and factory.
The proper steering wheel is being used and no modern switches or fuse boxes or anything silly
have been used in here so that the period vision remains intact.

Excellent choice to go all the way with these details.

Check out the correct style KDF speedometer and other bits.

Fantastic!

All lights and switches are fully functional

Great interior details such as the wood "duck boards"

Locking shifter accessory is a nice addition.
Seats are simple as the originals were.
Modern seat belts have been added for safety.

Well done

And a spot for your groceries...or weapons...or whatever.

The view out the rear window

Here you can see the Notek light glowing.
This was basically an anti-aircraft light that would give the driver just enough ground illumination
at night to operate the car, but not enough that the headlight beams would be visible from above.

While the radial tires are an obvious diversion from the original look,
they are a very wise choice for actually driving in today's world.
The original hard military tread bias ply tires were fine on the battlefront in the mud and dirt,
but on asphalt they are a real handful, especially at speed.
Smart move here.

The engine is a super smooth running and reliable 1600cc single port with 12 volt electrics.
The trans is a fully synchromesh unit that is geared well for the car.

I just love the details like this

In closing this really is a special car.
Well built and fully sorted, it is a car that needs nothing but a new driver.
The attention to detail and authenticity  take it way over the top of other Kubel replicas on the market
A very fun choice for someone that wants the look, but with actual reliability and functionality
and at a fraction of the price of the genuine article.
