1952 VW Split Window Beetle For Sale

SOLD!

Im going to start with the "Barn Find" photos of when this car was
discovered a couple years ago by a VW nut in Texas.
The car had been sitting since around 1970!

I love these dusty shots!  So awesome!

The car was pulled from hibernation and has been revived and cleaned and preserved as-is.
There were a variety of upgrades done to the car that have now been corrected and many efforts have been made to
return it much closer to original specs.

The car now sits on the stock 16" wheels and has the correct grooved bumpers and lights.

The patina to the paint job is very pleasing, even though it is not the original finish
it sure has a wonderful consistent age to it.
The "crotch cooler" vents in the front quarters is a desirable detail
for the split era cars. The original German dealer badge underneath is awesome as well.

Gotta love a nice early Beetle in blue!

Correct early headlights

Sits at stock height and it runs and drives very well.

Body is overall very straight and solid!

The stock wheels have been painted and wrapped with new rubber and hubcaps.
There has been some touch up to the rear of the car and a couple small spots on the front apron
where holes had been drilled for later model bumper overriders. Now it is back the way it should be.

Nice fit to the hood and doors

Rear decklid fit is off just a hair , it and the lower part of the rear fenders has been resprayed.
You can see a slight color shade difference...a better blend could be done if you wanted to retain that patina.

Paint definitely has its flaws...but I love the look.

Correct body trim and hood handle

The hood itself is from a newer Beetle as it has the raised bump beneath the emblem that the original would not have.

Firestone Deluxe Champion tires look great on the two tone 16" wheels.

The car is a very solid one looking in the fender wells!
Wow!

A bit of surface rust on the underside but overall very solid

Nice!

So surprising to see the inner fenders so nice and solid and never undercoated.
Fenders look to be replacements.

The 25hp engine is quite possibly the original numbers matching unit...and it runs fantastic!!
The engine numbers come up as a Jan 1952 build, as do the chassis numbers.
They were together when found, so while the birth certificate from VW has not been ordered to prove it
I do believe that they are correct for each other.

Decklid hinges show signs of repair at one point

Proper air cleaner, generator and distributor

A 5th 16" wheel is up front for a spare...no tire though.
Front apron was replaced at some point many many years ago as the stamping is incorrect for 52.
I am assuming the hood was changed at the same time as this repair.

Very straight in the spare tire well

Correct big cap fuel tank

Correct three bolt hood hinges.

Bosch logos on the headlights

Original Sekurit front windshield!!

The original German dealer badges on each side are super cool!

The dash looks fantastic

Door panels and interior is obviously not original materials, but they do look to be in good shape.
The car has vent wings instead of the original one piece glass.
A pair of one piece window glass is included in the sale if you wanted to put this back to original.

The seats are the correct early seats, so it would be easy to swap this all back to the original materials.

Headliner was redone in vinyl.

Nice age and look to the dash.

Black carpet

Overall it is a good old car with a neat look and a solid body and chassis.
It does still have some details you can chase if you wanted to put it back to 100% original specs
but as it is, it is an attractive drive-able little Split that will draw a crowd anywhere it goes.
There is nothing quite like a Split Window Beetle!!
