Volkswagen "Brasilia" For Sale

Here's an air cooled VW model that most folks in America (and even in Europe) very rarely see.
Its a Volkswagen Brasilia, and as the name suggests it has it's ties to the VW plant in Brazil where it was designed.
The cars were marketed mostly in Brazil, Mexico and the Phillipines where this example was imported from.
It's a clean example with minor custom touches and is a good runner and driver.

The body lines of the Brasilia are very clean and stylish...it's a good looking little machine.
And seeing one a little modernized like this is very cool. Being an extremely uncommon model, it's a major
crowd magnet at the VW events... lots of "what the heck is that?"

Back a number of years ago we had this 1976 model that was imported from Brazil...it was completely original
except for the Sprint Star wheels...VW Trends Magazine featured it and it is now in a private collection somewhere.

Just this past March in the UK, two show stopping custom Brasilias emerged that threw everyone for a loop
and were the talk of the show.

Paul Medhurst from Type3 Detectives built this stunning ride and had it at the show. Totally wild.

And this extremely hardcore custom sat outside on 17" BRM wheels... Awesome!!

With a couple of high profile customs like these two out in the scene, the trend will most certainly blossom.
Look back at the Fridolin (the VW "postal car") that for so many years was never cared for, now they are highly prized and the values
are through the roof due to a few well done custom examples that hit the magazine and showed the world how cool they really are.
I think the Brasilia is next on the list...just awesome.

Back from the "dream zone" of the other Brasilias out there and back to our target vehicle here.
This one is a phenomenal base car for such a wild custom, or just keep it as it is and cruise it.
It is certainly presentable in it's current state and with the bumpers off and the sporty wheels...it's pretty cool.
By the way...the car does have a clean California title and the seller has a pair of excellent original bumpers for the car that come with the sale.

Upright air cooled engine is pretty much the same as the Beetle...the short fan shroud is like the VW Thing
and the air cleaner is unique to the model. Its a single port 1300 I believe...this one has been upgraded with an alternator
and a billet oil filler and a mild performance exhaust but is otherwise stock.

Under the front hood looks to be pretty clean and straightforward.

Interior of this car has been upgraded a bit with a few more modern touches such as the sport seats and custom steering wheel.
All in decent shape with minimal wear. Nicely fit full carpet kit gives it a little "plush" (originally they just had rubber mats)

Stock door panles in nice shape.

Nice looking inside...and these seats are enormously more comfortable than the stock ones.

Rear seat is done to match...overall the car looks pretty nice...perhaps not "show quality" but still very presentable.

Chassis is very solid as is the body.

More photos to come soon, but the above posted ones give you the basics.
Very unique VW and extremely rare in the US...there are probably less than 10 examples in the country right now
and from my sleuthing around Ive only come across 4 of them including this one.
Think outside the box...grab this baby instead of a normal Beetle and have a little fun.

Priced very realistically for a timely sale.
Vehicle is located in Santa Barbara California.
Worldwide shipping is available.
