1961 VW Beetle For Sale

Here is an incredible deal on a vintage Beetle that has some very nice
upgrades.
First it has been put on a newer chassis with IRS rear suspension, so
the handling
is much improved, the addition of disc brakes and a mild performance
engine
also make it a tidy package...body off resto, nice custom interior and
all in quite nice shape.

Body was painted and pan was powder coated flat black 7 years
ago.
All metal is original German except for rear fenders.
Rear fenders are high quality thick steel Italian.
Wheels are Flat 4 repro BRM’s (4 bolt).
Car has about 10,000 miles on it since restoration. The car was
always garaged since its restoration. The car is titled as a 1961
Beetle

Nice look...the choice of the BRM wheels is great...at first glance you
dont notice the 4 lug pattern.

Chassis is a 1972 model.

Car is located in New Mexico and can be seen by appointment only.

There are a few small scratches and minor flaws such as this
little ding on the fender just above the taillight.

Chrome and trim is all bright and excellent.

Here is a little paint flaw on the hood.

Nicely detailed under the hood.

Wiring is all clean.

Looks straight and clean up here.

Headliner is cloth from West Coast Metric. Carpet is premium kit
from West Coast Metric.
Two kits were ordered to accommodate the 72 pan and 61 body (heater
holes, e-brake, shifter, etc. all line up).
Sound deadening material used under carpet (similar to dynamat).
Front seats are from a 1992 Honda prelude.
I made seat adaptors so that no pan modification was necessary.
Rear seat was redone 2 years ago. Optima battery is under the
rear seat.

Nice dash...cool period radio in place.
I like the glove box handle too.

Headliner is well done. Domelight works.

Optima battery!

Chassis is very clean and solid.

Excellent!

Very clean!

Adjustable front end, so you can lower it down to your liking.

Transmission mounts are Type 2 units from Gene Berg. Gene Berg
transmission brace
(mounting ears on pan were welded before pan was powder
coated). New shift coupler.
Urethane control arm bushings. New German spring plate rubber
bushings. Dual spring plate (early IRS) spring plates.
Disc brakes with parking brake from CB Performance.
Stainless brake lines.

Rear disc brakes as well...KYB shocks.

Good running 1600cc dual port with dual carbs.

Strong runner.

Receipts for a lot of the work have been retained.

In closing this is really a pretty impressive car for the money.
With a nice dual carb 1600 and all the 4 wheel disc brakes and other
upgrades, this is obviously
not your every day 61 Beetle. That sort of stuff is not cheap...you
could never build this car
for the asking price. Its a clean car, well done and well
maintained...very fun driver too!
A body off restoration car like this for this price is an absolute
steal!!
Asking just
$7,900 !!
