1979 VW Beetle Convertible For Sale

This silver 79 Convertible is an impressive find.
The car has just 32,000 miles since new and darn near all of them put on by the current owner who
bought the car from the original owner in 2005 when it had just 350 miles on the clock!
Yes that is right...it sat in a collection for 26 years with only 350 miles!

The car is in fantastic condition and the care it has received is obvious.
Even being driven a good 30k miles in the past 6 years it still looks showroom new.

Paint and body are superb...always garaged and pampered like a baby.

Nice carpet kit in the trunk keeps things tidy.

Door panels look fantasic.

Under the mat up front it is like brand new.

Chrome is excellent.

Under the back seat is solid and clean.

Original wheels with thin whitewall tires as originally delivered are included in the sale!!

The top is excellent!!

Original owners manual

Nice to see the bumpers and impact strips so clean and nice.
Check out that awesome plate too... remember 79 was the last year for the German built Beetle in the US!

Really a gorgeous car on the outside...but most importantly it is gorgeous
in the spots you dont normally see...lets take a peek upnder and see what is going on there!

The car has only been driven in nice weather and as you can see in the fenderwell here...it is still clean and pretty below.

More shiny top side images...

Oooohh---- Ahhhh

But underneath???
WOW!!!

Cant get much cleaner than this with an original car with this mileage on it eh?
Impressive!

Factory fit and finish...nobody does it better than they did in Germany!

Beautiful...simply beautiful!

When is the last time you saw a spare tire well on a 79 this clean?

Glass is excellent, window seals and body rubber are holding up well.

Again...WOW!

A set of original German waffle rubber mtas is included.

Seats look great!

Running boards are  excellent...original gravel guards on front and rear fenders.

Karmann body badge.
Just a quick education on this...I get emails all the time with convertibles that they think are some sort of special model
because it has an emblem like this...well...they all did. The convertible bodies were built by the Karmann factory
in Osnabruck Germany and as a result they have this badge.  If your convertible is missing this...there is a problem
but from about 1950 on up to 79...all normal Beetle convertibles world wide had a version of this badge.

OK...the engine on this beauty is also very impressive.
It runs like a dream and is in gorgeous shape.
Note the original blue sticker coil and the cleanliness and fit of everything...you really cant get any better than this.

Dash and interior are excellent.

<atching top boot is present and looks great.

Dash and steering wheel look great...super clean.
The woodgrain finish on the dach is also in great shape.
It looks to me like the shift knob and the stereo are not originals, but other than that is is all showroom original.

Under the back seat you can see the inspection tag and the firm padding.

The chrome wheels and caps were added by the current owner as he likes the look better than the stock "sport" wheels.
Tires are excellent on both set of wheels.

Looking underneath the engine and trans it is hard to believe it has as many miles on it as it does.
Obviously only driven in fair weather!

Another view of the top.

One last glimpse underneath...this car is super clean and solid below...really wonderful!

The car is located in North Carolina as the regostration suggests.
It is in the hands of a serious car collector in the area and as you can see by the garage behind...it has a nice spot to park
along with his other classics. If you are looking for a super nice example
that you can drive and show and have a lot of fun with...I dont think you can beat this car!
