1981 VW Brasilia For Sale

Here is a model you dont see every day!
This is a Mexican built VW Brasilia.
The Brasilia is based on a type 1 (Ghia) floorpan and drivetrain.
Its a model that was not imprted to the US or Europe and as a result...it is very hard to find one.

This particular example was purchased from the family of the original owner a few years back
and a very full detailed restoration was done by the current owner.
It truly is the nicest all stock example I have seen for sale.

The body of these cars is pretty neat design wise...it's kinda like what you would
imagine the love child of a VW Rabbit and a 412 would look like!

The taillights have a distinctly Mercedes look to the late model Brasilias like this.

The front is very "412" in design, having the "Leiding" nose...named after
the designer Rudolph Leiding.
The Brasilia was introduced in the mid 1970's yet it still has a modern look and feel to it.

The car was repainted in the original light blue color and the condition is excellent.
This is as close to a showroom new Brasilia as you are likely to find.

Very straight and smooth down the sides.

Excellente!

Taillight lenses look great..emblems as well.

Chrome is bright and shiny...window rubbers look excellent as well.

Rockers are clean and well painted.

Under the doors is very clean.

Fender wells were cleanly painted as well.
Tires are excellent.

There is no such thing as "flawless" and to prove that point...here is a small paint chip.

Window rubber and aluminum trimming is very nice.

Interior of the car is excellent.
This is a very uncommon view in an air cooled VW...picture this cockpit with the
sounds of the Beetle engine behind you...very strange!

Odometer reads 49,557 kilometers.
The car has been driven very minimally since the completion of the restoration.

Original radio.

Seats are done very cleanly and match the period and look of the car quite well.

Door panels are originals and in fantastic condition.

On the drivers side there is one small flaw however...just forward of the armrest.

Four seater...nice headroom in the back.
Seat belts in all spots.

Retractable front seat belts.

Wherever you look you see parts that seem familiar...yet different from the more familiar air cooled models.

Tweed syle material looks great and is quite comfortable.

Rear deck is nicely carpeted.

Headliner is excellent.

Looks nice!

Hinge covers look nice.

Here is a tiny flaw on the passenger side corner of the dash where the headliner meats the dash.

Under the front hood is wonderfully detailed.

Here is a photo during the restoration showing thr front suspension prior tp re-installing the fuel tank.
Looks awesome dont you think?

Chassis and floorpan all clean and detailed.

Very nice work here...this was a complete restoration obviously!

Engine is super clean underneath.

Access to the engine from the top is similar to the Type 3 models with a door that opens up.

The engine is a stock Type 1 style engine with a low profile fan shroud similar to the
VW Thing models.

Here is a photo of the engine out of the car where you can see the fan shroud and the unique exhaust system as well.

Here is the Mexican production tag.
These cars were also built in Brazil.

I love the look of the front end of these cars...so clean!

This car is located in the state of Utah.
It still retains the Mexican title.
Registering it in the US may have some challenges depending on the state you reside in
so check things out before you make the buy.
Shipping worldwide is certainly available and Im sure titling in other countries is as easy as anything else.
Great looking car, wonderfully restored and ready for display in any collection!
