OK...this one is rusty...but its a 21 window!
Anyone want to take on a project?
This one needs some lovin to be sure, but with the climbing values of
restored examples
it seems the only way most folks can get into the market is to start
with a project like this.
From a step back it looks pretty decent...but with a life near the
ocean, it has it's issues due to the salt air.
The ragtop assembly is complete
Looks like someone trimmed the belly pans off...but what is underneath
is not too nasty.
Frame rails seem good
Jacking supports look good
Jack points look solid
Some rusty pop out frames, but new ones are readily available
Some bubbles happening on the back corners
All the numbers are in place and there is a title with the Bus.
M code tag shows the options.
It is a "real" 21 window
Crusty
Definitely going to be some work to get this all back to proper
but fortunately there are quality sheet metal sections that are readily
available.
Dash has a couple extra instruments but the radio hole is not cut out
and the clock is still present
Seats look good
An old amp from a long gone audio system
Yikes!
Really bad along the rain gutter and the skylight windows.
I see some odd bracing on the frame here...looks a bit suspect perhaps
Engine looks half decent from below
Room with a view!
1600cc dual port engine
So...its a project, but it is the real deal "Samba" with all the
documentation.
Get it running and driving and tackle the rust bit by bit, or dive in
and just cut and weld and go crazy till it's done.
It deserves to be restored...can you make it happen?
