1963 Double Door Camper Bus For Sale
Back in the 1960's there were several companies that bought brand new VW
Busses from VW and then converted them
into campers. Some of these companies sold kits for the consumer to install
while some were "factory" jobs where the
consumer would ship the Bus to them for the conversion. The most fmous
of these is of course Westfalia, which was
the only "Factory approved" conversion companies, but several
others were endorsed by VW Dealers across the globe.
Im not exactly sure what company converted this one, perhaps someone can
shed some light on it.
The bus has been nicely restored and is very clean.
The work was done a few years back so it shows just a little age, but with
some minor touch up she would be
ready for the show season again.
It's not often you see a Camper built from a double door Bus.
The "double door" term refers to having the cargo doors on both
sides of the Bus.
With a camper that is kinda cool as you can have good flow through ventilation
and you
can of course exit the Bus on either side.
The colors are Turquoise and Blue White which are a proper choice for the
year.
Not sure if they are correct colors for this particular Bus as it was most
likely a single color
from the factory...not two tone. But it sure is a very attractive combination.
