1967 VW Beetle For Sale

For many VW enthisiasts, the model year 1967 hold s a special attraction.
Its been long bantered about as the "best year" of the Beetle.
It was the first year for the 1500cc engine, first year for 12 volt electrics,
first year for the standard upright headlights, and the last year for the smaller bumpers and painted dash.
There are many "one year only" parts on the 67 model year, especially the US spec versions
and all of these attributes create what is one of the most recognizeable and desireable Beetles out there.

This example is a pretty cool one for many reasons.
First of all, and most important of all in the eyes of many enthusiasts, is that it is incredibly solid
and dry underneath. Its a California car and the warm dry climate has served it well.
No rust in the floorpans, never undercoated and still as dry as can be.

The other cool thing about it is that is is quite stock and original.
Its been repainted on the outside once in the original color, its had a few trim bits replaced
and some interior work...but other than that and dropped front spindles...it is very very stock and unmolested..

The car is clean, but not perfect. I consider a car like this, the ultimate "driver".
Its nice enough to grab the looks, but not so nice that you would freak out if a shopping cart hit it or if your kids
put their feet on the seats. Its the type of car you can truly go out and enjoy as it should be enjoyed.

The paint has good gloss to it...there are some stone chips and minor flaws, but as you can see...it's a "looker".

This is the biggest body flaw...a soft dent in the passenger side rear fender that cracked the paint.
Its been popped ot for th most part, but the paint cracks remain.

The rear wheels have been swapped for a 5.5" wide wheel with a little fatter tire.
The owner still has the stock wheels that will go with the car...but these give it a little more sporty look
without being overtly "custom".

The window rubber and trim all look to be in nice shape...glass is all good.

Door gaps are pretty decent...overall the car feels very sound and solid.

Here's a little bitty rust blister...thats pretty much all I found on the car.

Front end looks good...bumpers are clean

Glass and rubber are all good

Some stone chips on the hood from use, but this is the worst of it.

Classic 67 all the way!

Blink Blink

Front wheels are the stock 67 rims with 145-15 tires.
The front end has lowered spindles which drops it down just a bit but retains the smooth ride.
This is the best way to go!

Body is nice and straight.

Window scrapers and trim in nice shape

Correct 67 handles

Rear wheels look great...I love that slightly fatter look!

Blue California plates.

Engine compartment is really quite clean...nice to see the bottom of the engine lid shiny and clean.

Engine is totally stock and proper and runs excellent.

The original 67 dual snorkle air cleaner is in place.
Carburator looks to be pretty new.

Its an "H" case engine so that is straight up correct for a 67...possibly the originial one to the car?
You would have to send off to Wolfsburg for the Birth Certificate to be certain...but it's possible!

Underside of the engine is pretty clean...not crazy clean, but certainly acceptable driver stuff.

The car is really solid...original floor pans in excellent condition.
Never undercoated...still original finish under here.
This is dreamy stuff for you guys on the East Coast!

Excellent!

Front end has it's layers of grime...looks pretty untouched.
Fender wells have received a coat of undercoating, but everything else is as original.

A little prang to the front apron... darn parking lot curbs!

Loosley fit carpet kit under the front hood...keeps things clean at least.

Spare tire well is untouched...this would probably clean up pretty well.
Original tool roll laying down in there.

Jack is in the holder...upside down...but it is there.

Back outside... hmmmm nice!

Interior is really pretty clean. The seats have been redone...carpet and door panels too.
Original paint on the dash and door jams.

Original radio still in place...correct 67 only knobs in place on the dash.

Carpet in nice shape

Headliner looks good.

No rips or damage

Door panels look good... proper 67 only window crank visable in this pic too.

Clean!

In closing this looks like a pretty honest solid ride.
Its a strong runner and driver, has a clean enough look to bring a smile when you see it
and with the mild stance and look...it has some attitude that a totally stock car lacks,
yet it has a decent air of originality to it at the same time.
