1953 VW Beetle Sedan

This is a nice car.
First of all it is a desireable Early Oval...one of the first of the Oval Window
variety, built in 1953, chassis number 1-0499753 which would be a June production car.
It was imported from Germany to the US in 1997 and has been stored indoors and
carefully tended to and driven sparingly. The exterior paint was done in 97 to the original Sahara Beige.
The interior paint is reportedly original.
All the original glass including the windshield, lots of original documentation as well...neat car.

Very nice condition, chrome is nice, paint is very good.

The paint on the wheels is the original two tone.

Turn signals have been added below the bumpers to meet European requirements.

German plates and Deutchland bumper badge.

Heart taillights

t
Pop out quarter windows.

Semaphore turn signals.

Radio antenna on driver's quarter panel.

Wolfsburg hood badge.

What a pretty car...dont you agree?

"Come fly with me..."

Here you can see the two tone paint on the wheel.

Proper panels in here...

Backside of the dash.

Body tag.

W decklid...

Engine is a very smooth running little unit
Engine number is 1-0584612 , documentation of engine change is in the paperwork.

Air filter decal.

Original carb tag remains with the car and is wired to the air filter.

Underside of decklid looks nice and clean.

Underside of the engine.

Floorpan appears solid.

Nice undercoat in place

Looks good.

Are you in love yet?

Inside is also very nice.
Seat upholstery and door panels are excellent.

The material sure looks right as do the seat stitching and pads.
Carpet has been replaced, shift boot is not original.

Petri Banjo steering wheel.

Nice Blaupunkt multi band radio.

Nice square weave wool carpets

Another close up of the seats...just beautiful.

Proper heater control knob.

Headliner is excellent.

Rear seat as well is excellent.
Passenger side rear panel has a bit of broken chrome trim...

Coat hooks/ grab handles.

Wolfsburg crest door sill plates.
Color matched running board covers.

Grooved door cranks and handles.

Very attractive interior.

The car is located in Jacksonville Florida.
Obviously due to it's location, we have not personally inspected this car, but from our contact with the owner
and the photos provided, I feel that it is a very nice example and that it is priced very realistically for a timely sale.
1953 model Ovals do not come up for sale very often it seems, especially in this sort of condition.
