1959 VW Fire Truck For Sale

Here we have a truly incredible find.
All original and un-restored factory fire truck with just 5167 original kilometers since new.
That is just 3210 miles since it rolled off the assembly line in 1959!
The truck was stored indoors in a porcelain factory in Germany, in a room without windows for its whole life.
The engine would be started and run to be kept in working order and a service log with
everything that has ever been done to it remains with the vehicle.
It still rolls on its original factory tires, the only things changed since new have been the soft brake
parts and fuel lines recently so that it is fully operational.

5163 original kilometers.
Just an insane discovery.

The Bus retains its original numbers matching 36hp engine that runs superb.

Service tag on the engine

The photos are of the Bus basically as found and proper full detailing has not yet been done in the deep corners.
These areas will truly come back to showroom perfection with minimal effort.

A large selection of the original fire apparatus and regalia remains inside, all included in the sale.

Pull up jump seats in the back for passengers

The original woodwork is amazing
There is no rust to be found on the body and chassis

Originally a VW powered water pump would slide into the rack on the right.

Flashlight

Incredibly solid example with just a light layer of dirt.
It would be an amazing transformation to detail this Bus to a high level inside, outside and underside.

The indoor storage and minimal use have preserved this Bus to a truly impressive level.
The paint remains bright and un-faded, the rubber parts remain soft and supple.
Its an absolute time capsule.

Drivers compartment is impressively well preserved.

The door seals remain soft and pliable, the headliner panels and sun visors look factory fresh.

Original door panels remain intact and impressive.
Keep in mind in these photos that this is all "as found", fresh from long term storage
and it has not yet been detailed and cleaned inside.

A few boot scuffs on the door panel...the bus was used for its intended purpose over the years
but seeing as it served a private factory, it remained on the factory property for the vast majority of its life.

The light dust on the floor panels will undoubtably polish up to a factory frersh shine.

Very much untouched yet fantastically well preserved.

Fantastic!

Again...all original and un-restored
This is a true diamond.

Wipe this with a little hand polish and it will shine like new! Amazing!

5167 original documented kilometers since new!!

Fantastic

There are a few dings and scratches here and there, the finish is not flawless
(the scratch in the paint on the bumper as an example)
But these small flaws help prove the originality of the machine.

Tag on the drivers door panel

All original and never touched other than fluid changes.
It is believed to be on its second set of spark plugs, but the originals remain
with the car as well as the originals of the brake parts that were also replaced.

What an amazing find.

The history is fully documented and the ownership basically has remained in one "family" since new,
transferring from the Porcelain factory to the owner of the factory as a private individual.

The paintwork on the Bus remains all original except the rear corners.
During its life at one point the taillights were changed to the larger 62-72 plastic lenses to meet the German regulations
but now in preparation for sale, the original glass lens lights were re-fitted and the rear corners carefully blended in.
It would be safe to say that 95% of the paint inside and out is the original finish applied at the VW factory.

Another very interesting thing of note is that this Bus, being a 1959 model, was the first of the new bumpers
yet, being a European delivered vehicle, it still retains the semaphore turn signals behind the doors.

The logos from the factory remain on the doors and the history of the factory itself is quite impressive.

Porzeilanfabrik Tirschereuth started with humble beginnings in 1838 and remains in operations today.
Their beautifully crafted products of the past are prized by collectors and their current production range
fills the finest hotels and restaurants around the globe.

This is the factory that the Bus spent its life protecting.

An amazing survivor inside and out and with such insanely low mileage
and miraculous storage situation, the state of preservation is what legends are made from.

Fantastic

I would think it would be quite difficult to find a fire bus with less miles or in better all original condition than this.
From the original tires to the top of the blue emergency light...this is a once in a lifetime find.
It remains in Germany currently. Professional worldwide shipping is available.
