"1948" VW Beetle Dream Machine with Trailer For Sale

Here is another mind bending dream machine for you all.
A split window Beetle with a truly insane matching teardrop trailer!!

Yes...what you are seeing is real...can you imagine coming across this out on the open highway!
It would blow your mind!!

Now this is not exactly all "original" stuff, but the vision of it is truly out of this world.
Titled as a 1948 VW, it is really a  blend of a 1958 pan and a 1950 body—this vw was built as a hot rod and not as an original resto.
Bodywork professionally done
All metal panels—no fiberglass
Original split case transmission
Fewer than 1,000 miles on a 1915cc motor
Motor was professionally built by Vintage German Motors
Car was engineered to tow a trailer—factory VW tow hitch
Updated brakes
New wiring harness and a long list of other details.

So...in the spirit of striaght up honstey, it is a bit of everything,
but the end result is a show stopper to be sure.

The 58 Chassis appears quite solid and basically un-restored.

Not a show car underneath, but solid.

The trailer is all aluminum and has been restored to match the Beetle.
The interior is empty, just used for storage.
The design is incredible though and the Beetle apparantly tows it with ease.

Nice clean hitch.

Great shape and a nice touch in the use of some VW parts in the refinishing of it.

The car itself is very nice and clean.
This is not an "over the top" restoration, but it shows well and attracts more attention than you could ever imagine.

Large neck fuel tank

Wiring is all good

Very cool spotlight/side view mirror

Great period body badge

Fog lights are pretty slick.

Another nice badge on the trailer and the Indian head on the roof is amazing!
I love the port hole windows as well!

All new wiring harness

Proper popes nose plate light and taillights, the grooved bumpers as well.

Headlight eyebrows are another cool accessory

Dash is gorgeous!

Bat wing wheel and Wolfsburg tissue box
Becker Monza Radio!

Three fold sunroof!

1915cc performance engine.
This one runs and drives strong!

Tweed door panels

Located and titled in Utah as a 1948

Grooved bumpers and body trim, large logo hubcaps on 15" wheels with radial tires.

Fantastic accessory sun visor.

fender wells are painted and solid.

Pop out quarter windows.

Vent trims add a little flash

Nice quality carpets and a good fit.
Dimpled shift knob

A good looking car!

Mudflaps

Carpet is drooping in the corner here...easy fix.

Seats are in excellent shape

Semaphore signals

Early aluminum split era hood handle.
This car has a lot of the details right on it!

Nice

A couple of paint flaws and scratches if you look close.
I like the budget early style lid handle...a T with one end trimmed off!

Original or not, this car is a heck of a lot of fun.
The purists may balk at the non original chassis and big motor, etc
but the rest of the world thinks it is the coolest Beetle they have ever seen!

So fun!!

This super rare Becker Monza radio was repaired, but it stopped functioning fairly quick.
Not sure what is up with it, it turns on and makes noise, but no signal.
It sure looks amazing though!

Speedo pod looks great

In closing this really is a lot of fun for the money.
With split window prices on the steep climb these days, and no signs of slowing
I can see how in the not too distant future that they are pretty un-obtainable by most folks.
This example will get more attention at the shows, be more fun to drive, and it wont break the bank.
It has a great look, seems well finished and there are a lot of special details that just make the whole package as weet as can be.
