1964 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale
This sweet Beetle rolled off the assembly line in April of 1964 with
the US as it's destination.
It is a very solid and stock example, matching chassis to the body.
The engine is a 1200cc , still 6 volt electrics, and it runs great.
It is located in Connecticut but has fairly recent history of being in
Texas and New Mexico
It is a very clean example...not concours level or anything , but very
nice indeed.
The car is kept indoors and is owned by a VW enthusiast.
He has owned it for just about a year.
Under the hood is all clean and proper
The underside is quite clean as well
Nice and dry
Original imnspection marks under the hood
Chassis number
Very clean in the spare tire well area
Solid!
Very clean under here
Pop out quarter windows are a nice option
Interior and dash are very nice
Excellent
Original radio and fasten seatbelts sticker
6 volt battery is nearly new
Engine number
Very clean in here
A lot of new parts have been put into this car over the past year.
The interior is all fresh, window and body rubber, new wiring harness,
starter and starter switch.
New fuel tank, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, axle seals and boots,
new cables, new clutch...the list goes on and on!!
Seats look great
This is a "stale air" 40 horse engine, so I believe this is a bit
earlier of an engine than 1964
but is still the proper displacement
Handsome face dont you think?
Body is nice and straight on this car.
There are a few scratches and small dings but nothing major.
Here is a small touched up spot on the hood as an example.
Also you can see that the paint finish has not been color-sanded and
buffed to a mirror finish like the show car boys do.
Very presentable car though...the Classic Beetle icon
The cleanliness and solidity of the chassis is impressive!
Superb!
Proper original German headlight units with Hella glass.
Bumpers look great
Wiring is excellent and is all new.
The turn signals are not currently functioning properly and the dome
light as well is not working.
The owner is still fiddling with the wipers as well.
So there may still be just a little troubleshooting to do.
The interior is all fresh and made by the fine folks at Sewfine
Looks lovely
Interior is really nice in this car.
Exterior too...she is a sweetheart!
Here is a small boo boo on the driver's door
A couple paint chips at the base of the engine lid.
Rear bumper is an aftermarket replacement
Straight and smooth down the passenger side.
Looking deeply in the corners you can see signs of a small dent repair
behind the drivers side front fender
Very minimal though.
Great early mirror
Tires are new and the stock hubcaps and trim rings are present.
The owner mentioned that one wheel needs a couple of hubcap clips
replaced.
Original wood slat roof rack is excellent!
Glovebox has been mysteriously signed by the boys at Gas Monkey Garage
in Texas.
No clue why really... but the autographs are there.
1964 was the first year for the larger license plate light.
Previous years had the smaller "beak" style.
In closing this looks to be a really nice honest old Beetle.
