1963 VW Panel Van Transporter For Sale
This sweet Panel is located in Vancouver Washington.
The restoration is quite fresh, being completed just a few years back.
Always garaged and well kept it remains very very nice.
Its an award winner at the local shows.

Its a great Bus that started out fantastic prior to the restoration...very solid and dry.
The two tone paint scheme is not the original for the vehicle but it looks great!
It is a fully operable vehicle, the owner has no issues with hopping in for a drive.
It is quite rare that you see a Panel Delivery like this, all restored nice and clean.
So many of them were poorly treated and not many survived
and it seems that the vast majority out there are pretty rough and a lot of them modified and lowered.
This one is nice and stock.
This was a professional restoration, not some backyard job and the quality shows.
The paint and body are very nice.
I like the Euro spec simple blade bumpers...no overriders as would be expected on a US example.
The nose emblem being painted to match the top keeps it mellow and serious.
I think perhaps putting on the correct grey painted hubcaps would take it all the way to the "industrial image"
that the "working class" of the Transporter line exudes.
It is simply...the "Box on Wheels"
A nice looking rig to be sure...but lets look in deeper...
The underside has been treated to a fresh undercoat to keep everything tidy.
And tidy it is...this looks super solid and clean underneath.
No signs of rust or repair to the bottom side in these photos...looks like a winner to me!
The engine is an upgrade over the stock 40 horse, this one is a very smooth running 1600cc engine with
dual "Kadron" carburators and 12 volt electrics.
Mechanically it is a very good driver and the little boost in horsepower over stock is a welcome
thing on the roads of today.
The back cargo area is just as it should be...all grey and clean.
Oh sure...you could put a camper bed back here if you are up for that, but it is so refreshing to see one
done correctly...with nothing back here but space for cargo.
The cargo floor looks amazing...so solid and clean.
Rear area as well.
Cargo doors appear solid and cleanly painted.
I like to see the latches clean of paint.
This panel has the original cab divder wall which is an uncommon things these days.
This is great for keeping a bit of the noise down in back and protects you when you are hauling
wild animals around in the back.
The owner has a bit of carpet cut to fit in the back to keep the floor from getting scratched up.

The rubber floor mat up front has some minor cracks around the shifter opening...
But otherwise is in nice shape.
The cab divider from inside the cab.
Headliner panels look clean up front.
The stock 15" Bus wheels are wrapped with nice 205/75 15 radial blackwalls.
Excellent tread.
The nose appears very clean and smooth, bumpers are well painted and fit.
Front door panels are the proper grey hardboard versions...looking nice!
Seat is done in a basic grey vinyl and looks the part well.
On the drivers side it does have a slight issue with the beading that has come loose from the seat in a short section.
Padding is proper horse hair material.
The steering wheel is original and shows minor age, but is in quite nice shape for being unrestored.
Prroper plain horn push.
Radio block off plate in place...bare bones, no frills, that is what the Panel is all about!
The shifter is a Gene Berg performance shifter.
Sure...this is not technically "correct" but they are truly awesome shifters and work very well.
Nice clean dash and drivers compartment.
Floormat looks great.
Matching spare wheel and tire behind the seat.
For those of you that like to decode the info...here it is!
Very clean under the seats, nice new seat belts and door seals.
Really a sweetheart of a Bus!
One of the things that made the Panel so popular in its day was that it was the ultimate utilitarian vehicle.
Many businesses bought these to use daily and haul their wares.
Many of them ended up with company logos and signwriting on the sides that made them rolling billboards for the business.
If you are a business owner...this still holds true...the advertising potential of a vehicle like this is awesome.
Put your logo on the sides and people will remember it for sure!
A vintage VW Bus like this draws a crowd in today's world!
Or just leave it as is and enjoy it!

The owner did something really cool here...before he applied the undercoating, he took photos to show
just how solid this Bus is underneath.
The undercoating can hide a lot...but in this case, it hides nothing!
Look how nice and dry the underside is!

In closing this is a super clean example of a rare Panel delivery.
It is show ready just as you see it, use it for work, use it for play, sit and stare at it and wipe it with a diaper.
This one is well set for all of that! And priced to sell!
