1962 Beetle Sedan

This is truly one of the wildest VW's I have ever seen in over 25 years of playing with them.
This is one impressive show machine.

Hot VWsMagazine Cover, Volksworld Magazine Cover, Super VW Magazine Cover!
All with full feature articles within.

Full feature in the US Magazine Heavy Hitters as well as other publications across the globe.
This is indeed a "world famous" vehicle.

The look of the car is classic, but with a very high end modern level of detailing.
The ultimate fashion accessory for you collection... not the kind of car you park at the mall.

The builder of this car runs a high end auto salon in Huntington Beach California
where most of his clientel is driving modern Euro cars such as Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini...etc.
This was a personal project for the owner who wanted to build a custom with enough clout to hang with this crowd.
He was very successful in doing so, the car has placed well at all show outings and it draws endless admiration
while on display in their showroom as the centerpiece.

Thanks go to Heavy Hitters for the use of their amazing photos here...as you can see this is true eye candy!

Out of the lens of my pocket camera the car is still impressive.

The paint finish is very very deep and glossy and the pinstriping is world class work to be sure.

Beautiful stuff

Porsche speedster headlight grilles over Euro fluted lenses with blue parking lights.

Gorgeous glassy smooth finish

Stainless body trim is polished to a mirror finish, more tasteful pinstripe work all over the car.

Very agressive wheel and tire package with an amazing "tuck" thanks to the air ride suspension

Pop out rear quarter windows.

Rare window shades have been chromed and pinstriped as well

Glass and rubber is all excellent.

Wipers have been deleted, but could be replaced if desired...holes filled with color matched lighted jewels

Oh yes...it's a Volkswagen in case you forgot...here's the emblem to prove it.
It should probably have a Cartier emblem on it it's so fine...

The pinstripe work is superb!!!

Chrome hood latch with chrome hardware to attach it.

A thanks to the builders is tastefully put on the front apron
(although they mis-spelled Bob's last name... should be "LaCoste")
Bob is phenomenal by the way...he has done quite a bit of work for me over the years and I have always been pleased with the outcome.

Under the front hood is an impressive array of custom leather and chrome and billet.

The narrowed front beam climbs through the fenderwells and hooks together with this stunning laser cut cross bar.

Suspension is all detailed to a mind numbing level.

Master cylinder and resevoir are amazing.

Custom fuel tank wrapped in diamond stitched leather.

Billet aluminum hood hinges are another wild touch.

Bumper bar accessories add a little more chrome and protection.

The custom made Body Coddington wheels are a work of art on their own.
Inner surface is wrapped in matching leather to the interior while the insets of the wheel
are painted body color. Hand striped Boyd Coddington logo on the center caps
has been topped off by R.I.P. as a tribute to Boyd's recent passing.

The big cross drilled rotors and disc brake set up look great as well...nere you can see the colors on the wheel
this sure helps tie in the whole scheme on the car quite well.
Not the most practical thing perhaps...but if you want practical...go buy a Honda...this is all about style!!!

All fresh handles and chrome

Again more amazing striping work.

The engine is like staring into the showcase at a jewelry store.
This is not just a pretty face, it is a full tilt pro built Jay Cee 1914cc mill.
Counterweighted DPR 69mm 8 dowel crank, CB Performance H beam rods,
Mahle pinstons and cylinders with Total-Seal rings.
CB Performance 041 heads were ported and polished by the master himself, Jeff Denham and feature Manley valves
stock rockers on Bugpack solid shafts, JayCee chromoly pushrods in spring loaded tubes.
Camshaft is an Engle FK-8 and the compression ratio is 9.5:1.

The Vertex magneto was fully engraved and polished as were the JayCee modified 48ida Weber carbs.

I think I saw some rap star wearing something like this around his neck at the last MTV awards...Wow!!

Can you say certifiably INSANE??
I have never seen anyone go to this level of detail...engraving and chroming the magneto...wild.

The carbs are another bit of functional artwork as well.

Jewelry...thats the only way I can describe this...incredible.

Under the car is spotless as well.(as you would expect)

Rancho Performance built transaxle features 3.88:1 ring and pinion
3.55 1st, 2.78 2nd, 1.48 3rd and 1.14 4th gears.
Super-Diff, welded 3rd and 4th, heavy duty side covers and more amazing chrome and detailing.

Chrome spring plated have even been licked with the striper's brush!

Feder wells are all detail painted, floorpanels have been treated with
a Rhino-liner type finish.

The interior is another mind-blower.

Scat Pro-car seats have been trimmed in leather.

Door panels feature amazing woodwork that really makes for a unique image.

Billet steering wheel wrapped to match.

Instrumentation is all digital...gorgeous.

High end audio system tucked neatly into the cener console.

Chromed pedal assembly and yet more pinstripes!

Wow!

Seat upholstery is impressive. And it smells like a new baseball glove in here...dreamy.

Amp tucked into the seat back.

Subwoofer in a custom leather pod in the back.

Headliner features more woodwork and matching leather.

Here's a detail of the wood trimming...very unique and speacial

Back outside for a quick peek...
