1976 Porsche 914 2.0  "Survivor" w/ 74,000 original miles

Here's a beautiful well preserved original Porsche 914 2.0

She's a "Survivor" with only 74,000 original miles!

Well preserved , great history.

One of the last cars made/sold in 1976.

Beautiful lines with a  removable Targa top.

Truly unique, the car was designed so younger people could afford the Porsche experience, this idea
came down the line from the boss himself,  Ferdinand Anton Ernst "Ferry" Porsche.

The 914 was designed by Heinrich Klie head of the PDS (Porsche Design Studio) in Stuttgart, Zuffenhausen.

When it comes to Porsches, the ones to look for are like this... a low mileage "survivor" car.

The car has had only three owners in 41 years.

Porsche 914 2.0. ~ One of the first mass produced mid-engined sports cars.

Let's have a look in the rear trunk/engine compartment area.

All over, original factory paint, no rust no rot..

Deck lid paint is like  new, lovingly preserved.

The photos speak for themselves, it is a very clean original example.

Dealer fresh looking engine compartment.

She's had a recent $3k sorting out with a engine tune up, new shocks, clutch and suspension work,
the car runs flawlessly and is ready for a long distance tour.

Looking all around the car, it has fine original condition bright work..

A very clean drivers side door mirror.

Those great handles.

The car has all 5 of it's original 2.0 Liter 4 bolt pattern "Fuchs" wheels.

All four wheels on the car are in fine condition.

Let's take a look inside.

Super clean dash, the dash pad is crack free!

Original steering wheel with just a touch of patina, really it's hard to believe that this is a 41 year old car.

All original VDO gauges.

Everything in proper working order.

Gas tank/Gen/Oil Temp and such beautiful looking intruments!

"Fasten Belts!"

Original carpet with recently bought Coco mats from cocomats.com

41 year old preserved factory seats and interior trim in Porsche  #501 Basketweave "Cinnamon"

Look at the door panels in that Cinnamon trim, amazing I really love the look of this car.

The car has a 1980's aftermarket radio/stereo cassette
with speakers installed in the front section of the door panels,

Let's have a look up front.

Very clean everywhere you look.

*Don't forget to run 91 octane fuel.*
(original fuel warning sticker)

Overall everything clean and original.

The preservation of this car is really a treat, you never see 914's in such fantastic original condition.
So many have been used and abused.

Original windshield washer tank in perfect condition with original
factory warning sticker, pressure to "42 pounds per square inch."

Headlight motors are fully functional

The "Fuchs" spare has a small but repairable crack on the wheel.

The car was originally sold in California at Stevens Creek VW/Porsche in San Jose.

Yes!
That's a factory tool kit in it's original heavy duty plastic bag with perforated holes.
(quite uncommon, hardly any of them survived)

This car has all handbooks and receipts.

That is the original Safety Compliance Sticker.

Original Karmann body tag with number and paint color..

Ah yes, the paint color, which is L 80 Light Ivory.

The second owners were a charming couple and they named the car
"Edelweiss"
In homage to Dr. Porsche's Austrian lineage with the color of the famous Alpine flower.
The car has had a very pampered life, never restored, only 74,000 original miles and the
third and current owner has sorted her out as well as doing a professional detail, ala ceramic topcoat.
The car is located in San Diego.

This car is really a clean ride, everywhere I look it looks like brand new, it's like you've
taken a a time machine and gone back to 1976.

But  now it's time to come BACK  to 2017 and this car still looks fresh,

Hella turn signals at their finest.

And side marker/turn signal lights in like new condition.

Windshield glass in fine condition.

Targa roof trim in top condition.

Chrome trim and Targa roof seals in detail.

Now let's step back and enjoy a good look around this amazing "survivor".

A great look for 1976 and the last year for the model sold in the U.S.A.
An important detail here for California buyers.
This is a California spec car, however the original smog equipment has been removed.
The parts are all included in the sale, but as it sits, it will not pass emissions testing here in the state.

I have read somewhere that the newly designed fully impact rubber bumpers added aerodynamic
handling qualities to the car, either way, I think that they look really cool, very minimalist.

Another look at those 2.0 Liter 4 bolt pattern "Fuchs" wheels.

"It's only original once!"

Lights On!

Always thought the car looked like a little  space ship with those lights on, very cool!

She's looking really good here.

Almost time to say goodbye.

Very few of there cars have survived in this condition.
L80 Light Ivory paint with a "Cinnamon" interior, 2.0 Liter motor, 5-speed transmission,
with 4 bolt "Fuchs" wheels.
Completely sorted out and ready to tour.
Here's a real investment which will only climb in value.
Lovingly preserved by three owners with only 74,000 miles.
