1960 VW Beetle Convertible For Sale

Yes!!
Now this is a seriously sweet car!

This stunning 1960 Beetle Convertible is really a fantastic choice for someone that wants to
actually drive an enjoy a proper classic Beetle without having traffic pile up behind you.
I love the car as it looks totally bone stock and trimmed with all the goodies
but underneath it has disc brakes, a performance engine, radial tires and bright 12 volt electrics.

The only hint that there is something going on out back is the exhaust poking out.
It is highlighted quite a bit in this pic with the sun hitting it just right,
but for the most part you dont even notice unless you stick your head under the bumper.

I would be tempted to spray the exhaust and filter black just so it really hides...but that is just me.

The engine room is extremely clean and the
2332 motor (by Dave Greiner at Performance Motoring in Orange)  features Weber 48 IDA's, and a 1 1/2 qt sump,
external oil cooler and filter that holds 7 qt's of oil.
Build out includes an A1 Performance Exhaust, disc brakes, a coil pack for better ignition and hidden spark plug wires.
Trans is a Rancho High Performance pro street freeway flyer with welded gears, heavy duty main shaft

Very clean underneath and built to boogie!

Trans is fully built to handle the added horsepower and has performance mounts as well.
This is a car built to drive, fast when you want it and a cruiser when you dont.

Chassis is extremely solid and sound.

The disc brakes are a fantastic add on and safety feature.

Back out on the shiny side it looks like the perfect restored classic Beetle.
The indigo blue color is  absolutely gorgeous!!

The grey top and boot look fantastic, a perfect contrast.
The wide whitewall radial tires give the car that classic look but with the handling and ride that only a radial can give.
The two tone wheels look fantastic as well

Well trimmed with great period accessories and vintage plates.

Such a good looking car.

Interior is also very well done and in great colors.
Really well trimmed and accessorized as well.

The color combination of this car just works so well and looks quite unique.
In 1960 this color was a convertible only color...so it is not a common vision in my mind.
It really looks sharp!

German square weave carpets, nicely finished door jams.

I wanna crawl right into the picture through my computer screen and go for a drive!
So sweet!

Very nicely fit carpets...nice Wolfsburg crest logo floor mats

The banjo steering wheel is fantastic.
The accessory fuel gauge and early Sapphire radio is nice as well.
Note also the Bambus parcel tray and shift pattern gear shift knob.

Seat belts are new throughout for safety.

Another couple quick engine shots.

"What? I was speeding officer?  Me? In THIS?"

Matching spare wheel and tire

Trunk is super well detailed

Nice vintage St Christopher badge

Top up she is gorgeous as well...I love the grey against the blue.

The top has all the correct trimmings in place as you can see here.

Headliner is excellent

Excellent paint and body

The restoration was completed in 2011
The car has always been garaged and only comes out on sunny clear days.
It lives a pampered life and it still looks fresh and show ready.

Wild VW logo eyebrows!

Wolsburg crest

Dealer plate frame, VVWCA badge, 1960 tagged plates...so nice.

Cool AAA badge too!

From the top here it is cool to see where the exhaust tips come out of the stock cutouts...nice touch.

Dreamy

Ive gotta stop...
The more I look at these photos the more I wish this car was mine.
This is gorgeous and whoever ends up with it is going to really have a blast.
