1956 Oval Window VW Beetle Sedan For Sale

This is a nice solid presentable Oval Window Beetle at a reasonable price.
It is not a top level show car but it looks runs and drives well and has an overall nice presense to it.

Chrome is nice and bright on the aftermarket bumpers, good body trim, etc,

Wolfsburg crest and Volkswagen script emblems

California year of manufacture plates.

Bullet front turn signals and nice clean headlights.

Radial tires have whitewall tire inserts to give it that classic look.

Car sits nice and proper at the stock height.

Nice and smooth down the sides...attractive coral red color is correct for the car.

Rear wheel detail.

Rear bumper looks to be an original...a couple of small dings.

Pretty clean machine.

Passenger rear wheel...

Down the sides it looks nice and straight.
Paint quality is nice but not flawless.

The Oval rear window...what a beautiful shape

Wood slat roof rack is a nice addition.

Door handle is pitted up a bit.

Some pitting on the window chrome too

Early flat "4 tab" hood and emblem

Pretty basic under the front hood.

Original jack, a bit of carpet to keep things from rattling...

Looks to be the original front apron

Spare tire well.

Body tag...looks like possibly the original paint in here....

Underside of the hood.

Closed down shut and smiling.

Lets take a peek in the engine compartment now....

Engine is a 40 horse from a slightly newer model but retains the proper look
fan shroud and such. Engine runs good and the owner states that it is a good driver.
(I didnt get a chance for a test drive as it was at an event)

Still 6 volt electrics.

Underside of the "W" decklid.

Original H pattern rear apron.

Underside of the engine shows a little seepage.
Original split case trans is still in place.

Floorpans and heater channels look very solid.

Good solid undercoat under everything.

Fender wells appear to be quite sound as well.

A little crack appearing here on the undercoat, but that is about it.

New horn.

Inside is pretty clean and presentable.
Front seats show very minimal wear.

Door panels are of later design but look nice in the car.

Carpet kit is basic level stuff.

Original speedometer and a clean un-cut dash.

Nice Motorola "Big M" radio.

Headliner is done in the perforated vinyl of the 60's area Beetles

In good shape with no big issues.

Rear seat is nice, seat belts have been added.

Rear floor shot...

Under the drivers side pan looks nice as well.

Rear fender wells also look quite solid.

Straight and solid...definitel a car that has lived in a dry climate.

In closing this is a very good buy for the money.
Great color, overall nice condition, a little room for improvement if you wanted to upgrade
a few things (not that you would really have to). But most important under it all,
it is a nice solid example that has not been butchered up or modified.
