1969 VW Type 3 Fastback Automatic For Sale

Very sweet Florida based 69 Fastback with the rarely seen fully automatic transmission.
There are few models out there that VW made in the air cooled days for those not wanting to deal with the clutch
and as our world has progressed into one where the majority on the road are put off by three pedals...the automatics
are really in demand. For many years they were a liability among enthusiasts and now the tables have turned!
The car is a very clean example in the correct original Savannah Beige color.
It is overall quite stock in appearance on the exterior with only a slight adjustment to ride height to the front end.
All the correct original trim and lighting is in place and it has the added accessory
vent shades on the windows and nice wheel trim rings on the rims.
69 was the final year for the early style bumpers and lights on the Type 3's.
In 1970 things changed to a larger bumper and lights that would forever change the look of the model.
The interior of this car has been very nicely upgraded with a mild custom upholstery
and carpets that really look phenomenal with the exterior color of the car.
That automatic shifter and two pedals is not a common detail seem in 60's era VWs!
This one is well serviced and operates great. A true joy to drive in traffic.
As younger enthusiasts enter the scene and older enthusiasts tire of a long drive with a clutch, I see
an increased demand for the automatic models.
Modern audio system is a noce upgrade to the car as well with high quality components that sound great
and connect to modern phones and ipods.
Rear deck mounted speakers and amplifier.
Nice stock original steering wheel and horn ring.
Front speakers mounted in nice trimmed enclosures on the kick panels.
Dash is in nice shape with a very good pad and all original instruments and switches in place,

Original body tag in place under the hood.
Out back the flat four "pancake" engine has been converted to a dual carb system and a modern alternator.
Very clean and well tuned and trimmed.
Close the lid and lay the carpet in place and the "trunk" is ready for your goodies.
The Type 3 is great for haulinng your stuff with both the front and rear trunks being perfect for locking your
goodies up out of sight.

Not restored underneath, but it appears solid and sound.

Dash pad is a replacement item in excellent condition.
Stock 4 lug steel wheels with VW caps and stainless trim rings.
Bumpers look great and have the factory reverse lights in place.
Very clean ride.
Nice to see this level of cleanliness and detail in the spots you don't normally look
like behind the gas door.
Odometer shows 71k miles and change.
Solid but un-restored underneath
I love seeing a nice solid original chassis like this.
Overall it is really a nice car inside and out.
The Fastback is a personal favorite of mine, you see them so rarely and the style is as 60's as they come.
Type 3's are fantastic drivers as well, very solid and smooth on the road
a far different experience than a Beetle.
Such cool cars.
In closing this is a very nice ride. Well done and well kept, ready for a new home.
