1967 VW Kombi For Sale

One of the neatest parts of the VW scene in my eyes is the love for patina.
Life is not about perfection and the VW guys just get that.
As a result the true original paint survivors have their own group that totally dig them
and its fun when another one pops out of hiding after many years of hibernation.

This one left the factory in September of 1966, so an early 67 model
that was destined for the port of Los Angeles. Sold new at Colley VW in Glendora
as a camper converted by Freedom Campers. It was parked in 1992 by the original owner
who kept it until his passing in 2024. Now in the hands of a seasoned VW nut
it has gone through a full recomissioning with new tires, new brakes (including upgraded disc brakes in front)
new wiring harness, the engine was pulled and re-sealed and fully serviced, the trans received new fluids and
fresh axle boots. The original paint finish was cleaned and preserved while the interior
received new upholstery and panels. Its now a turn key, ready to drive machine.

M code tag tells the story of production and options as well as the original paint code tag
of L512 Samtgrun, or Velvet Green.

Underneath the Bus retails all its original metal and is really quite solid

Rocker panels are solid and untouched, jacking points as well look awesome.

The only noted rust through is this section under the drivers side floor.
Easily repairable with modernly available panels.

The new disc brakes are from CSP in Europe and are very high quality.
New rubber brake lines, steering dampener and more.

Very nice to see it so solid underneath

The interior looks great as well.
The original camper interior installed when new was in very poor condition so the owner removed it
and just went with a simple single bench seat
and new interior panels in the original style by Clara.
He did keep some of the camper interior parts that can go with the Bus if desired.

It shows its share of bumps and bruises as well as paint fade through
but the overall appearance is very consistent all the way around it.
Bumpers were left in original finish as well which I think is cool.

I love the fade on the nose emblem as well as the bumpers.
Ive seen so many where these parts are freshly repainted and I just think it looks out of place.

Just a proper solid honest Bus

Drivers side floor is solid with just hints of surface rust.
Drivers side as shown above in the pics has a small break through area.

The new grey interior panels look awesome.
Nice original floor mat and original grey finish on the bulkhead and interior cargo area.

The Kombi was the bare bones window Bus...with easily removable seating to haul cargo
and no plush upholstery or headliner to mess up when you are jamming crates and boxes in it.

These and panel vans were often converted to Campers in the US for sale at dealerships.
This one went that way, but now is back to a the original Kombi with simple seating.

Very solid original floor and rockers.

There are a couple signs of its previous camper life on the exterior such as a canopy rail
strip across the roof on the passenger side and the power outlet just behind the side window.

Here you can see that canopy rail...a simple small aluminum strip
but it was of course screwed to the roof so removing it would leave small holes.

Original paint on the dash and door jams as well of course.

New seat upholstery and seat belts up front.
Dash looks awesome, I love the radio block off plate and the correct 67 only dash knobs are intact.

Fresh air vent area is also super clean.
New headliner panels over the front cabin as original.

I love the paint fade on the roof...only Mother Nature can make it like this!

Still black California plates and a clear title.
Fly in and drive it home, this one is ready for adventure!
A perfect clean slate to build into your dream Bus or just love on it just as it is.
