1966 Beetle Sedan For Sale

Here's the info on the car direct from the owner...
"Here is the history on the car. I purchased the car on 10/9/2001
in San Francisco from the original owner, a personal friend. He purchased
the car from a VW dealer in San Bruno, CA. The first thing I did was put
on a new steering box. I had the car painted in 2001. I put a rebuilt motor
12/12/2001 purchased from Buggy House Motor Sports, Hayward, CA (has less
than 10,000 miles). Upholstery was done 8/1/2003. Transmission rebuilt
5/2/2005 (has less than 3,000 miles). Rear brakes and seals done, replace
bushings 8/4/06. Front brakes, bearings done, fuel pump, 1/25/2010. New
battery 1/23/2010. Tires purchased 2/17/2003 good rubber all match (Less
than 10,000 miles on tires). Electrical converted to 12v. More details.
I sent the car to my daughter when she moved to New York 5/2005. I was
living in Savannah, Georgia and I got the car back from her and drove it
from New York to Savannah July 2006. I then moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi
in 9/1/2006. Now I am living in North Mississippi, Aberdeen, MS. The car
has been sitting mostly. I will occasionally drive it once a week. I have
a clear title, car registered and insured to me. I also have the original
California license plates. The car run's very well. A friend of mine entered
it into a car show in Gulf Port, Mississippi and it won a trophy!!"

So the car has a good history and has minimal miles on the rebuilt drivetrain.
The restoration looks to have been done well and only minimal signs of
age exist, most of which could be improved upon
with just a little elbow grease and perhaps replacing a couple parts.
(IE...the running boards look a little worn...quick exchange and a big
improvement for a very small investment)

A couple paint chips here that should be treated and touched up...but it's
minimal.

Here too...this could be cleaned up pretty well and dealt with so it does
not spread

Here's one small blister in the paint on the driver's door.

Interior looks quite nice...door panels look to be the originals!

Seat upholstery is excellent

3 point seat belts have been installed

Headliner is clean

A little wear to the original steering wheel and the horn ring is broken...dash
looks very clean and proper!!

Carpet and mats are in good shape

Engine room is pretty clean and the rebuilt engine (less than 10,000 miles
on it) runs well.
12 volt electrics with an alternator.

Transmission was rebuilt less than 3000 miles ago.

Floor pans are all original and show no signs of welding or repair.
There are a couple of small holes drilled for drainage perhaps...and just
a scant duting of surface rust
but this looks like dreamy solid German sheet metal to me!

Being a California car originally...it was never undercoated at the dealer.
The good part about this is that you can see exactly what you are getting
here...the bad thing being that if you are in a wet state,
this should be treated and cleaned and undercoating applied so that the
surface rust does not become something more than that.
Im very pleased to see how solid this one is...looks pretty good to me.

In closing this looks like a great little Beetle.
Very solid car with a fully known history and recently (well fairly recently)
rebuilt mechanicals.
Its not a perfect show car, but it is still very clean and with minimal
effort and minimal expense it could be even better!
