1978 VW Super Beetle Convertible For Sale

Its been a bit of an heirloom for the family but after a recent trip to
one of the depressed countries in the world
it came to the owner that it is time to share the wealth and give up a
toy for a greater good. So he and his family
donated a sizeable chunk of money to a noteworthy cause with plans on selling
the beloved Beetle to pay for it.
( Cool stuff eh? )

The car received a mild customization in the form of custom wheels, drop
front spindles and a mild performance engine.
Its got a great look to it, very clean and stylish and the colors are awesome.

Im not quite sure what it is about this particular car that makes it look
so good to me...I can only guess tha it is
the stance and the overall color palette.

Top up it looks sweet as well

Very nice quality paint and bodywork with very minimal flaws from use.

Glass is all good and all the weatherstripping and body seals were replaced
at the time of the restoration.

The interior is done in a very nice light grey with vinyl on the edges
and a tweed in the centers
all done in the original stitch patterns, and boy does it look sweet. A
nice change from the common stark white
and much more liveable in the real world.

Dash pad is all original and has a couple of small cracks just above the
speedo pod.
Original woodgrain on the dash, custom steering wheel

Custom door panels look very sweet.

Nice carpet

Factory clock

Detail of the cool padded steering wheel

Odometer was reset at the time of the restoration...just 5654 miles at
the time of these photos!

Original Blaupunkt radio in the dash.

Original owners and service manuals are in excellent shape

Wide angle rear view mirror is a clip on...good clean stock dash.

Rear seat is done to match with the tweed inserts

Top is in very good condition but could use a little scrub clean
(the owner told me he would have it all detailed and cleaned before delivery
to a new owner)

Love the nose-down stance to the car...mild, but just right.

Chrome is in nice shape

Little ding in the hood.

And another on the crown of the drivers front fender.

Very straight body lines and decent panel fit.

Porsche style "2 litre" wheels are in very nice shape and are
wrapped with near new tires.

Billet aluminum running boards give another slight custom touch.

Car is registered in Arizona with a clean title.
Car is located in Southern California.

Very nice reflections down the sides.

Engine is a very clean 1776cc unit that was rebuilt at the time of the
restoration.
Fitted with Weber 40mm carbs and a 110 cam, the car runs a fair bit quicker
than stock.
The ony downside about this is that at least in the state of California,
the car will not pass the visual part
of the mandatory emmissions test. In the vast majority of the states this
does not cause a problem
but check your local laws to be sure.

Clean under the decklid

Nice ceramic coated performance exhaust.

Engine is pretty durn clean

Floor pans and all underpinnings look to be very very solid.

Obviously been in a dry climate...this is all original sheet metal here.

A happy face...

Clean under the trunk with a full carpet kit.

Nice under the hood

Original spare wheel

Looks like a little bodywork here by the hood latch...

Original paint code tag.

Washer bottle is there, shock towers are super solid.

This is a nice car...great look, runs well, nice history and a very cool
reason to sell.
A great deal for the price!
