Porsche 356 A Replica For Sale

SOLD!

At first glance this car truly looks like a real Porsche 356.
Ive showed the photos to a bunch of folks, including some owners of the real deal
and it is one of the most convincing replicas they have ever seen.
We have all seen endless 356 Speedsters , but there are not a lot of the coupes out there
which makes it even that much more convincing.

The devil is in the details as they say and this one is extremely well executed.
I love the little tweak on the emblems... 2500 instead of 1500...a hint to the beast that resides under the engine lid.

The owner and builder really went deep in creating a convincing classic feel to the car by using
key details such as the genuine 356A steering wheel.

The modern 356 inspired instruments are another neat detail...
and only 414 miles on this car since completion.

The car was built in California by JPS Motorsports.
The quality is excellent, fit and finish is very fine.
The car looks spectacular inside and out.

This car is several steps above the normal coupes that JPS has built.
With 170hp, smooth Subaru engine, functional air conditioning, power windows
and a full cushy original style interior, this is a car that looks like the 50's
but drives like today.

The overrider bumpers go a long way in completing the illusion.
The car really looks "right"

Everything on the car is new and in showroom condition.

Well trimmed and detailed top to bottom

Fuel tank

Battery

Underside of the hood.

Peeking under the front nose, the radiator is present.
Electric fan on the back side pulls the cool air in as needed.
The car runs cool in all weather situations, even the 100 degree summer in traffic with the A/C cranked up!

The chassis is a 1970 VW, which is what the car is titled as.

Disc brakes, sway bar, Sachs shocks...this car handles well and stops fast.

Fun grille badge on the back.

Dash at first glance is a convincing array but looking closer you see the details.
Power window switches, the A/C unit under the dash.

Glove box

The Porsche steering wheel is fantastic and the Vintage Speed performance shifter is a great choice as well.

The car is very well built and feels solid and strong.
Very quiet and rattle free on the roadway, this car feels as substantial on the road as it looks.
Its a real car...and it is a blast!

Interior is very well trimmed.

The seats are a massive improvement over the standard bucket seats installed in the majority of these cars.

Down underneath you can see the level of detail and build quality.

The monster Subaru motor is mated to a VW transaxle that was pro built by Rancho with gearing and
heavy duty details that are perfectly matched to the horsepower and application.
at 70 mph on the freeway the engine hums at a comfortable 2800rpm.

2.5 liter engine inside...this car is a rocket on wheels!

Freshly built and tuned Subaru flat four fits in the space very well.
Fuel injected,  mega reliable and gobs of power.
With the "real deal" 356 engine pumping out maybe 75hp
and this one at 170hp plus the lighter weight construction...we are
talking one of the fastest little "bathtubs" you could imagine.
Still very mild and streetable, I was wildly impressed with the feel and ride on the road.

Very well engineered and executed.

So tidy.

Back seat, retractable seat belts
German square weave carpets

Major upgrade over the normal "speedster seats", these are much closer to the original look and style
and offer great comfort. I will admit as a tall driver myself (6' 3") it was a little tight, but there does
appear to be a little gap that could be closed behind the seat if needed, or if you are a real monster
perhaps running Speedster seats could be the easy option. I love the look of these though.

Headliner is excellent

The radio is a non functional item.

Power window switches and clock.

Under dash A/C blows cold!

The radio is just a prop...non functional

Instruments are all working and have that 356 look to them.

Love that steering wheel and horn ring!

Outside it looks quite pure and real.

Nice Falken rubber underneath...car handles well.

The body of course is fiberglass, but strengthened with steel.
It does not look or feel like it though.
Super smooth finish, excellent fit and on the road it feels very solid and quiet.

In closing this is a fantastic play toy.
With the real deal well into six figures these days and the performance of this
being so stellar in comparison, it really is an attractive option for someone that
loves the look of a 356A but wants something reliable, fast and comfortable to play with.
