1979 VW Beetle Convertible For Sale
This 1979 Convertible comes to us from Louisiana
where its owner is ready to set it free and hand over the keys to a new caretaker.
The car is very clean and solid and reportedly has around 70k miles on it.
Great color combination and very nice cosmetic condition.
The stamped steel "sport" wheels look great
Kumho radial tires all the way around
Interior looks nice as well
Minimal wear and age
Seats look great
Headliner could use a cleaning perhaps but looks intact and in overall nice shape
One good spot that may or may not come off with proper chemicals
Rear speaker deck is a nice addition
Top opens and closes well
The top here is not fully folded at the back in these pics
Underside looks quite solid and original
A little surface rust perhaps but I see no "cancerous rust" or perforation.
The exhaust has been changed to a traditional style "tweeter pipes".
Normally on a 79 there is a single outlet in the rear apron,
on this car the lower end of the apron was trimmed across
at the body line to allow for the older style exhaust to fit without issue.
Pans look good!
This is a Super Beetle of course with the McPherson strut front end.

Iut back is a 1600cc dual port engine that runs well.
The factory fuel injection has been removed, manifold swapped and
a new carburetor and distributor installed.
Electric fuel pump with pressure regulator.
Under the front hood looks clean and tidy with what appears to be the original spare
still in its spot!
Nice straight and smooth body by the looks of these pics
Looks like some paint finish issue under the gas door, possibly from a gas spill in the past
Sharp!
Top fits well and looks to be in good shape
Nice car overall and the final year of production for the air cooled convertible Beetle.
Solid and straight and ready for play.
