1966 Beetle Sedan For Sale

Here is an original California 66 sedan that has withstood the test of time very well.
It has a lot of originality to it, mostly original paint, extremely solid and rust free, fresh interior front top to bottom,
and a very sweet running original 1300cc engine. Its one of those great cars that has some mild patina
and is as loveable as an old pair of blue jeans. Restored cars are great, but give me one that shows it's
age and I always feel more comfortable in it.

There are a few little bumps and bruises, but overall it looks like the car has been well cared for during it's life.
Certainly never customized or modified in any way.

Original German steel everywhere you look.
I believe the passenger side was resprayed at one point and I think the door was changed
but you really have to look hard to find the clues that this is the case...it has a very consistant look and age to it.

Original wheels in the proper paint colors, original bumpers, etc... just a sweet "old lady" car.

The bumpers are the original German units and the rubber accessory bunper gard trims are very cool.

Original LA area dealer frames on front and back.
Owner has the original black California plates for it, but when recently registered, the white plates were put on.
The black plates are re-registerable now under the "Year of Manufacture" program in California.

They show a little age perhaps...but the fact that they are here at all is a testament to the care of the car.

The hood has a couple soft dents in the front...I would be curious to see
if one of those paintless dent removal guys could work this area back in place.

This fender has some signs of being resprayed long long ago...

Body is very straight and panel fit is good.

A crease in this fender has been worked back out a bit...nothing too bad, some careful touch up and blending
would do wonders here.
Wheels look to be original paint finish.

Tires are very good

Cool dont you think?

Original rear bumper as well with the guards and bumper trims.

Nice

Original taillight lenses

Dealer frame in the back as well

Window rubber is new, glass is excellent.

Roof rack has the perfect patina to match the car.

Very smooth down the passenger side as well.

Overall a very good solid example and it runs and drives great.

Very clean engine compartment and a totally stock 1300cc engine.
Runs excellent...very smooth...quite sewing machine like... an enjoyable test drive.

Proper air cleaner, all proper engine tins are in place

Correct distributor.

Square aluminum case voltage regulator is a rare find these days.

Yummy.

A light bit of road grime below, but nothing major.

Floor pans are very solid and original

Nice.

Front end has a bit of grime, but looks great

Under the front hood is very clean and un-messed with.
The spare wheel has been painted solid body color...and there is no trunk liner, but those are easy fixes of course.

I see a little metal warpage on the apron near the bumper bracket on this side...but otherwise nice

Washer bottle still has it's pressure sticker

The spare wheel lock chain is present (a common accessory in 66, at least here in CA)

Clean original finish

original jack in the holder

Fuel tank is clean

Underside of the hood looks good

A few scuffs from rubbing the bumper upon opening...bumper seems to clear now.

A face only a Mother could love?
I think not...

An open road and the "fweem" sound coming out of the tweeter pipes...what a blast!

The interior of the car is really nice.
The paint is all original in here (except on the passenger door as explained above)
the door panels are original and are very clean and then everything else is freshly done and excellent.

Dash looks great

Odometer reads 8,000 miles...actual mileage is believed to be 108,000 miles since new.

original radio

Glove box holds the original owners manual, Bendix radio info and a complimentary issue of
Small World that was given to the original owner upon purchase.

Some cool little historical bits.
The ladybug floor mats are early aftermarket examples too...probably dating to the early 70's

Ashtray shot...

Carpet looks great, the parcel tray is a nice addition, under dash is excellent.

Headliner is all new and well fit

Looking very nice

Carpet is run up under the window which helps protect the headliner material from the sun.

Seats looks great

Nice original seat belts in the car as well.

original door panels in quite amazing condition.

In closing this is a good and honest car.
It shows a little age and I look at that as a very good thing.
I like to see a car that has not been fooled with....and this is one of those cars.
And it does run and drive very well... cool car!
