1979 VW Beetle Convertible

Spring has sprung and Convertible weather will soon be upon us.
This very pretty silver 79 Convertible is just waiting for it's new home and wide open roads.
1979 was the last year for the German built air cooled VW Convertibles and they have been
highly prized by owners as the last of the breed. In 1979 there were quite a few that
were bought by collectors and hidden away in storage with little or no miles on them...bought as investments.
Well this isnt one of those cars, but it is a very well cared for example with no major rust or damage
and reasonably low mileage and a very strong running engine.
It is clean enough to bring a smile and a wave whereer you go, yet not so perfect that you would
be afraid to let the kids in the back seat.

The car has been resprayed on the exterior in the original silver color and the finish looks quie nice

The top was done not too long ago in a very nice black canvas just like
it's fancier German compatriots...the Mercedes.

Very nice clean look to the car...bright chrome, straight body and a very classy look.

Factory "sport" wheels have good quality tires on all four corners.

Interior is quite clean with minimal signs of use.

Door panels have been cut for aftermarket speakers, but the dash looks clean and un-altered.

Odometer reads in the 60K range.
Original clock and burlwood dash in very clean condition.

Stereo has been upgraded, original dash pad has minimal cracks.
Original caroets look to be in quite nice shape.

Seats are proper and correct for the year with the seperate headrests.
Factory seat belts in all seating locations.

Here you can see the speakers a bit better.

Car spends it's life in a nice clean garage.

Here in the door jam you can see the original production sticker...peeled up a bit but there
and you can see where the original silver paint hits the new finish.

Nice looker.
The current owner has just brought it in to be checked out by his mechanic, so it is running great.

Quite clean indeed.

original owners manual is included.

The black canvas top sure looks nice against the silver paint color.

Original rear glass with defroster...new rubber too.

there is a bit of a ding in the passenger side rear fender on the top...but minimal.
Looks like it's missing a plastic center cap on this wheel too.

Top boot is included to cover the top when down.

Trunk looks pretty clean with the original liner in place.

Engine runs excellent!
Fuel injection system has been removed and replaced with a much easier to service carburator.

Underside of the engine is pretty clean...no major leaks.

Floorpans are solid and smooth.

Looks pretty good under here!

All in all this looks like a good one.
