1962 Land Rover / Volkswagen Hybrid

Now for something completely different!
This short wheelbase 1962 aluminum body Land Rover has been modified to fit
on a custom built frame and now features air cooled VW power!

It is a very simple design and layout and is wonderfully finished.
It almost appears at a glance that it was supposed to be this way.
Everything is clean, yet aged a bit.  Right hand drive steering is very fun.

The extreme drop gets it right on the ground yet it is operable this way
(just no bashing through the outback on safari!)
Damaged front corner was left as is.
Bolt pattern is Porsche so you could bolt on some Alloys if you were up to it...

The custom rear platform with air vents looks very clean and well fabricated.

It has such a pure industrial quality to it...no frills, lots of thrills.

Simple rear deck fabbed out of aluminum.

The powder coated Porsche steel wheels are the shiniest part of the car.

Fantastic stance and in motion.
This wild build was done by the craftsmen at Rust Box in California.
They are well known for their fabrication work and this vehicle, as well as many others they have built
have been magazine featured worldwide!

So wrong...and yet so right!
