1962 23 Window Deluxe Microbus For Sale

This is a very fresh restoration...still a few details to complete.
Built as a driver, with some modern upgrades mechanically but still the classic vintage look.

Nice smooth bodywork and fresh paint, new rubber and trim all the way around.
Safari front windows in chrome, chrome bumper, etc.

Sealing Wax Red and Beige Grey in color.

A nice looker indeed.

Just needs the last few finishing touches...like the front emblem and a few other bits.

Excellent chrome bumpers with accessory rubber bump strips.

Very straight and clean nose.

Euro style headlights.

Chrome safari windows.

Nice reflections down the side.
Not phenomenal panel fit, but it's all new rubber and such so this could possibly be worked out
(referring to the door gap)

A solid example that has had minimal repair.

Rockers are well finished.

Chrome trim is in place on the vents... gas door lock still to be installed.

Excellent tires on the proper 15" wheels.

Safari rear windoiw as well with chrome frame.

Freshly built 1776cc engine with dual Kadron carburators, runs excellent.
This is very fresh and clean and was professionally done.

A few nice chrome bits to jazz it up a little.

Quite clean in the engine room.

Around the battery as well.

Another very nice upgrade are the disc front brakes!

Interior is all fresh and pretty as well.
Nice tweed and vinyl combo on the seats...not "original" but very tasteful.

New seat belts in all positions.

Floor detail...pretty clean.
Under the mats the front floors show signs of some rust repair that was done.
Repairs were done with flat sheet steel rather than the factory style repair panels.
From above it looks nice and clean and solid. The repair is visable from below.

Odometer has been reset to turn over to zero in two miles...I told you it was fresh!

Door panels are nice and clean...the chrome trim for the panels is not present.

A little sign of hinge repair to the lower drivers side hinge.
Could be prettier, but it feels solid.

Rear passenger area is very clean and new.
Carpeted back here which is a nice change from the industrial style rubber mats.
Carpet was glued down along the edge, so a "lift the mat" shot was unavailable.
Looks nice along the threshold though.

Seats really look nice.
No kick panels on center or rear seat bottoms.

Luggage rail is in place and looks nice.

Another few finishing touch type items are visable here...like the fresh air vent panel, horn button and domelight lens.
Also one safari window latch is broken...inboard passenger side.

Headliner looks decent. Sunroof handle is incorrect.

Another missing domelight lens.
Rear safari window latches and hardware need a little tinkering with.

Bulkhead wall is plainly upholstered...it is clean but does not quite match the others.

The remaining panels are excellent.

Nicely carpeted on the luggage deck.

Wires run for speakers...jailbars are in place.

Underside of rear hatch is done in the mesh vinyl like the panel centers.

In closing...the Bus is a nice clean example that with the final touches done will look quite stunning.
The Bus is located in San Diego , at the mechanic's shop that did the mechanical work and assembly.
I have been told by this mechanic that most of the missing parts were "here somewhere" and as a sale gets closer
we will narrow down what is missing and what needs to be done and can either negotiate the details into the sales
price or knock a little off and you can do it yourself. The owner of the Bus has moved out of state and doesnt want to take
the Bus with her to rainy Oregon and I dont blame her...it's too nice for that. So somebody else will get to be the
new pilot for this freshly done machine...and with the nice mechanicals and tasteful upgrades...I am sure it will provide
a great deal of family fun and adventure, as well as a pretty sound investment (the microbusses have been going wild in value!)
