1959 Beetle Sedan For Sale

This sweet blue Beetle sedan is located in Minnesota
It was sold new in Vancouver Washington by Gilbert and Seibel VW.
The current owner has some original service invoices as well
as the original booklets that came with the car in the original dealer folder.
It has always been kept out of the weather in Minnesota and has been stored during the winters
in an airplane hangar.

The car is very stock and unmodified and has a cohesive original factory look to it.
It was cosmetically restored at some point to a nice driver quality level.

The paint finish is glossy but not show level.
There are a few flaws here and there but it is overall a very attractive car.

Headlight lenses and buckets look proper, the bumpers appear to be originals.

Wolfsburg hood crest.

Floorpans are original and unrestored.
Overall very solid without any notable rust other than a couple tiny pinholes
under the battery that have been cleaned, treated and protected.

The rest of the chassis looks rock solid and retains its original undercoat.

Jacking points are strong and solid.

Fender wells all look sound as well

Clean under the front hood.
Matching spare wheel and tire, correct fuel tank and cap.
Front apron is the original and the body looks very straight.

Nice trunk liner and wiring cover in place.

Original glove box is present but has a couple cracks.

There are a couple of spots on the doors of the car where the paint has lifted just slightly.
This is on the drivers side door just below the vent wing, there is one other spot on the passenger side door above the window.
Its a minimal issue, but it is there and Id rather show it to you than have you be surprised with it!

VW logo key

Odometer reads 77k miles. Actual miles is undocumented.

Looks like original rubber mats are in place.
Carpet is the correct German square weave with just a bit of patina

Floors are very solid and clean underneath

Nice to see such a solid example

Front floors as well are solid and quite clean.

Looking at the original rubber mat material here, I guess it is possible that the mileage is original to the car?

Again...floors look good.

Carpet looks to have been replaced, but with a high end correct kit.

Personally I think I would pop in a set of new rubber mats just so it all looks fresh inside...but
it is a bit of a treat to see some touches of originality remaining.

Headliner is in great shape overall but there are some stains coming through around the rear window
and above the doors.

Seats and panels are excellent!

Modern seat belts installed for safety

Looks great in here

The original Bendix Sapphire radio is in place.
The owner has bench tested it and had it working, but for some reason it refuses to
function in the car.

Dash looks great as does the correct steering wheel.

The underneath is quite original and untouched.
It does look like shocks have been replaced at some point not long ago and the owner
states that a new clutch, pressure plate, flywheel seal, transmission main seal, axle boots and fluids were changed less than 100 miles ago.

Engine still marks its spot, but it not leaking in a major way.

Engine appears to be the original one to the car , 36hp with manual choke and vacuum advance distributor.
All the proper parts appear to be in place and it all looks quite original and untouched.

The engine number is 2893825 which lines up perfectly with a March of 59 production
as does the chassis number.  I have not had the owner check the service books, but if I were a betting man I would
put my money on this being the original engine to the car.

Great color combo...very pretty

Very solid example!!

Here you can see the discoloration over the door.

And some of the same around the rear window

Outside she is a pretty little thing.
Nice and clean, all stock and humble.

This would be a wonderful car to take a personalize with assorted accessories to make it your own.
I picture how cute it would look with a set of wide whitewalls and some tasteful period accessories.
Others might picture it lower with different wheels.
You can do a lot with a nice simple canvas like this.

Of course just as it is, the car looks great and will get compliments all over town.

I love the interior in the car...really nicely done.

And the exterior is sweet as well

All in all this is a wonderfully solid all stock example of a 1959 Beetle.
Its a great runner and driver just as it sits and the owner has decided it needs a new home.
You may find others out there for a few less dollars, but look deeply and you will often see issues below
or badly done repairs.  This one seems pretty virginal...never messed with, and that is well worth a few more dollars.
