1968 VW Beetle For Sale

This little blue beauty is located in Illinois
It is a very clean and solid example that has been nicely restored.
The current owner bout it in 1997 from the original owner
and he started the restoration in 2001.

The car was pulled apart to the shell, and painted inside and out.
Top quality parts were used in the restoration, the vast majority from Wolfsburg West.

Very stock and proper in all respects.

The condition is excellent and the owner has a very complete accounting of all the work
that has been done to the car under his ownership.

Fenders were removed during restoration, new fender beading installed.

Chrome is very good, the car has been well stored and cared for.

The only non-stock item visable from outside are the larger diameter tail pipes that come out the factory holes.

Taillight lenses are excellent, all body seals and gaskets replaced.

New running boards and body trim.

Wonderfully detailed in the deep corners and such...check out the shiny new gas cap
and the instructional decal on the back side of the lid.

Door handles are in excellent shape...door gaps are good and everything is well fit and finished.

New window rubbers and scrapers.

Window rubber has the proper aluminum trim

All glass is in excellent condition.

The wheels are the stock slotted units that are cleanly detailed and wrapped in excellent rubber.

One small scratch on the drivers side front fender.

Interior is super clean and all the soft bits are new.

Very clean inside...all factory in appearance.

Seats are done with the proper small buttons on the seat back.

Back seat superb as well

Stock everything in here...only interior modification is an aftermarket shifter.

Original radio in the dash.

Rear luggage area material is the original stuff, with new cloth binding...very nice touch and a good clue
to the level of restoration and attention to detail used during the restoration.
Also note the holding strap on the rear seat back...an item that is most often forgot.

Headliner is very nice and clean.

Spare wheel is painted to match the body.

Really nicely detailed inside the spare tire well and trunk!

Trunk liner is well installed and super clean.

Underneath the liner the wiring is all tight and proper and the paint below it is excellent.
Truly a factory finish appearance in here.

Original jack is included.

Original tool roll and spare fan belt.

Nice!!!

The car has a total of 110,000 miles since new.
The engine was dealer rebuilt at some point in it's history based on the
serial number tag, and it really runs and drives excellent.

Some surface rust on the valve covers and exhaust...not perfectly shiny new under here, but not super slimy either.

Front end has been rebuilt with many new parts...brakes are excellent as well.

The chassis is very solid and un-restored.

The heater channels and such all look very solid.

Original owners manual.

The original dealer / owner id card is still in the manual.

Many original receipts and records included.

In closing this really looks like a jewel of a car, and being located in Illinois is a bit of a rarity for a car this nice.
I love the known history of the car and the owner's attention to detail and use of quality parts in the restoration.
With all this in mind the car seems like one heck of a bargain at the asking price!
