1960 Volkswagen Single Cab Transporter For Sale

The utilitarian VW trucks based on the Bus platform are hot collectibles.
The rarity factor is big as the vast majority lead hard lives.
That...and trucks are cool...just look at this baby!

The "tailgates" that fold flat all the way around a VW truck make it something quite unique
in the world of these sorts of machines.  The canvas canopy with roll up sides is also a very fun
addition and is really functional as well.

Safari windows up front and that happy VW Bus "face".
These are super cool.

This example is a spectacular one as well.
The restoration was done with no expense spared and the level of detail is excellent.
The owner really challenged himself to build the very best example that he could
and as you look through the details you will see what makes this one really stand out from others on the market today.

Truly showroom fresh looking inside and out.

Located in Northern California

With the canvas off you can see the top frame and cleanly finished wood.

All like brand new

Paint finish and body are excellent, this photo shows the reflections down the side quite well...she is smooth!

Stock height, all stock in look and finish.
Mechanically it too is quite stock with the only upgrade being the addition of disc front brakes
for added stopping security.

I love it with the canopy in place...looks so cool!]

"Treasure chest" underneath is super clean and a nice rubber mat fitted.

The owner went a bit nuts (in a good way) with some finer details.
Check out the leather straps for the attachment points on the canvas
and the chrome gate latches as well.

The bed is fantastic and the finish is so nice.
The wood looks great!

The tail gates are superb

Single treasure chest door on this model.

Safari rear window as well.

Stunning original radio

Interior is excellent!
Rare accessory MotoMeter gauge in the dash and signal lights added early in its life on the dash pod.

Super clean

Parcel tray detail

Cleanly painted in the "under-bed"

Floors are superb

Odyssey battery, very clean finish in the engine room

Roof panels look fantastic and the owner made sweet polished aluminum trim for the gaps rather than the factory
ones that are not anywhere near as pretty.

Engine is a very clean and fresh 40 horse that has been converted to 12 volts.

The truck by the way was stripped down to bare metal during the restoration and it was a fantastic body to start with.

Now it is a show piece!
It gets a lot of attention out at the events and on the road.

Always garaged and well kept.
It is a pride and joy thing for the owner for sure... and it will be for the new owner as well.

Detail of the leather straps...the stock ones are a real thick canvas that tend to fray and look a bit messy.
This is much much classier!

Love love love that wood in the bed.

More engine room detail

Clean

The underside too on this is wonderfully clean

Here you can see the disc brake set up and the dual circuit master cylinder.

Engine is plumbed with an external oil cooler as well so it really runs nice even on the hottest days.

KYB shocks.

Super clean and solid under here.
Not "over-restored" with perfect glossy paint.
The factory never built them like that, what you see here is much more correct.

Seat upholstery is excellent

The chrome gate latches look awesome!!
The factory painted these and the paint would chip and scratch the first time you used them.
This is a really nice way to go.

This picture speaks a lot to me... the clean lines of the bodywork
and the clean work space beyond it.
The owner is a very particular guy...if he is going to do something, he is going to do is right.

In closing this is truly a stellar truck.
Nothing in life is "perfect" but this owner went a long way to get it as close as he could.
It is a truck that will make anyone proud.
