The Bus still shows well and is a great driver and play toy.

Overall the paint has held up well on the majority of the body and everything still looks nice

Nice and smooth down the sides

The interior also has held up well

Looks great in here!

Barndoor style steering wheel, very clean dash, safari windows

Gas gauge added, but it is a genuine VW unit from a later Bus

A bit of surface rust on the gas pedal.
Interior surfaces of the floor and seat stand were painted with a sound deadening texture coat.

The Illinois weather has left its mark over recent years.
There are some paint bubbles on the rear apron.

The lower rocker panels also have numerous paint blisters from rust working its way in.

A bit behind the bumber as well

Other than the lower bits...she looks awesome!

Odometer reads 5723 miles
It had just under 700 on the odometer when he bought it, so it has just a little over 5000 miles on it during his ownership.

Rare "ambulance fan" in the fresh air box.

Headliner still looks great

Nice dash

The engine is a proper upgrade from original with a full synchromesh trans behind it.
Excellent driver with plenty of power for the modern world.

Underneath the heater boxes under the engine are starting to rust and any exposed metal has a little surface
rust to attend to and clean up.

To install the synchromesh trans a more modern nose cone mount was installed and the "hoop"
below the trans was cut to allow the trans to clear.
It is all firmly installed and works well.

A little paint chipping on the safari window frames
Wipers have the spring loaded shafts to allow the wipers to move out of the way of the safari windows.

The underside remains quite solid...perhaps just a little clean up to do

A bit of road grime under the engine

Cleaning and treating and repainting under here would make a huge difference.

The repair work to fix the bubbling paint on the rockers would be pretty straightforward

Being down low and below the aluminum trim, this would be a very easy spot to blend paint wise.

This is probably the worst spot...and again, this is something that could be treated and repaired
without a massive expense.

Long pop out latches, all the jailbars and seat handles are present.

Canvas sunroof looks great

A wood slat roof rack is included in the sale along with a proper steel front bumper
(the one on the Bus currently is a fiberglass replacement)

A full set of wide whitewall tires is included as well.

In closing this really is a decent Bus.
Very desirable early 23 window...a "Wolfsburg Bus", built at the original VW factory
before the secondary production facility was opened in Hannover where all the rest of the Busses were built.
This is just one step below the mega rare Barndoor 23 window models that have been trading as high as $250k!
We recently sold off the site a twin to this Bus that was priced at $145k!
Keeping in mind that this one needs just a little body repair underneath that might add up to a few thousand bucks
this Bus is a great buy at the asking price.
