1974 Porsche 914 2.0 For Sale

Every now and then we bend the rules a little bit and advertise something that is not a VW.
This is one of those cases, but of course it is still a member of the family...the Porsche 914.
This is a 1974 model, which is perhaps the best of the breed (73-74 had lighter bodies and bigger engines...always a nice combo)

This example is located in Virginia and is in the hands of a true VW nut who has kept it in impressive
condition. He is the third owner, and knows the history of the car well.
It has 102,000 original miles on it since new. The engine was updated not too long ago
and was tuned just a bit with some mild performance upgrades which help propel
the car to speed a bit faster than a stock example.

The car was resprayed once in the original color and the work was very well done.
Only a scant few stone chips and minor flaws...the car still looks impressive.

The mid engine location here makes these cars handle very well...if you have been in one, you know
what Im talking about...if you havent...you really should give it a try!

When the engine work was done, European model flat top pistons were installed which
increased the compression ratio over the stock US spec units and that is a welcome change.
Stainless steel heat exchangers were installed as well which are just plain awesome.
The engine runs well and the car is a delightful driver...averages about 30mpg too...so that's a bonus!

The car is very clean in the front and rear trunks and it appears to be a very very solid example.
The car features original air conditioning which was quite a rare option.
The system is complete but is not currently functional...would need an upgrade to
current refrigerants, but once that is done she should blow cold.

Nice and clean up front as well...shows very nice dont you think?
The car is rust free according to the owner, which seems to be a rarity in these models,
especially in a car located on the East Coast.

Here's a part of the A/C system.
Clean down in here.

The interior of the car is original and shows quite well for it's age.

There is just a shade of wear to the driver's seat...the rest is very nice.
The car has spent most of it's life garaged, and it shows.

Odometer just turned over 2748 miles ago.

In closing, this is a cool ride.
Perhaps one of my favorite colors of the era, and a very solid well maintained
example that has survived the test of time well. Very fun car for the money
and an affordable entry into the Porsche fraternity.
