1955 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale
This sweet "resto Cal" style early Oval is located in Southern California
and is a very attractive and well built car that was done in 2014 and driven minimally since.
A February 1955 and delivered originally to California
Definitely an uncommon find to see a car this early with full California history back to day one.
Being an early Oval (pre-56) it features the semaphore turn signals on the window posts.
This stopped in 1956 for US delivery cars , but continued in Europe for a number of years after.
Another detail for the "early Oval" era cars are the "ribbed doors"
The pressing of the steel around the door panel bumps outward, where on 1956 and later models it is flat.
The dashboard in the 55 is the same as 56-57 but it is the last year for the "bat wing" steering wheel
This one fully restored and fitted with am accessory Sun and Moon horn push.
Gene Berg shifter hints to the fact that there is something more than a 36hm engine out back.
German square weave carpets and proper rubber mats.
Just about 1000 miles on the car since completion of the build.
Very clean interior.
Cloth headliner in good condition.

Pop out quarter windows, all factory trim in place.
Heart taillights are technically a 53-54 detail for a US spec car...in 55 a special
taillight was used with a domed lens and no brakelight heart on the top.
These are far more attractive and visible really...this is a swap I would make as well.
W decklid, such a beautiful design.
The engine is a 2110cc with dual 44 Weber carbs, electronic ignition with coil packs
Transmission is from Rancho , one of their "Pro Comp" package boxes with
superdiff, aluminum side covers, hardened keys and welded 3-4 hubs.
Very clean and purpose built.
Not all blinged up with chrome or billet junk.
The engine has roughly 1000 miles on it since rebuild.
Wiring is all super clean
Spare tire well detail ...this area shows some slight wear and distortion but is hidden with the spare tire in place.
Very clean
Large mouth fuel tank is another 1955 detail...in 56 the cap got much smaller and the shape of the fuel tank changed as well.
So clean!
Chassis is the original numbers matching one to the body.
Super clean and solid.
Adjustable front beam
Disc brakes and adjustable spring plates.
