1961 VW Double Door Swivel Seat Panel Van For Sale

This rare double door swivel seat panel was sold new in the state of Texas and was used as an egg delivery van in Waco.
It remained in the original ownership until the 1990's.
The second owner was a cinematographer in Houston Texas that did a light restoration to the van and
installed a new period correct engine. It was repainted in its original color.
The current owner is the third owner since new, a seasoned collector in California
that is selling off a few cars to prepare for an upcoming move.
He has kept it garaged and well kept and has driven it perhaps about 500 miles during his ownership
and has used it for special events and shows.
It remains very stock and proper with no major modifications of any sort.
At one point the Bus did have safari windows installed and the brackets and spots for the dash tabs remain.
The dash is un-cut and a factory radio block off plate is in place.
It is very clean inside and out.
This is a very rare swivel seat model that was originally delivered with just this one seat from the factory.
The idea of the design is that the driver count turn the seat and access the cargo for deliveries
easy and efficiently . This is not something you see often in the world of VWs!
The owner got tired of driving alone and fashioned this custom passenger seat that can be removed in and when you desire.

The swivel seat models have a special seat partition and stand as you can see.
Being a double door model as well...with loading doors on each side is a very neat layout.

Being a 1961 model it is the last year for the bullet front turn signals.
