1965 VW 13 Window Deluxe Microbus For Sale

This is a beautiful example of a 13 window Deluxe Microbus.
Professionally restored approx two years ago by us.
Driven sparingly, well maintained, and it has a showroom fresh look and feel to it.
It was featured in a full feature color article in Cars and Parts Magazine
in their special Volkswagen issue. And it sure turns heads on the roadway.

Super smooth body and paint in the original Sea Blue and Blue White color combination.
(proper for the year and the original colors for this Bus)

Nice panel fit, great smooth reflections everywhere you look.
The correct bumper trims are included with the sale but have not been installed.

Really cherry in all respects.

Like looking into a mirror...(well almost...but you get the idea)

Super solid rust free rockers...dreamy.

Dry dry dry!
The Bus came originally from Colorado and came to California a couple years ago.
Prior to the restoration it still had it's original paint and was what I like to call... the perfect base car for restoration.
We oversaw the restoration here at Oldbug.com and I know what the Bus was like to begin with.
There is nothing nasty hidden anywhere, no big globs of bondo or shaky bodywork.
Its a very solid example indeed.

Nice.

Lets take a look at the engine shall we?

Oooohh ahhh.
Excellent running single port 1600cc engine, 12 volt electrics, very clean indeed.
One thing of note.
The triangular shaped supports on each side of the engine compartment are distorted a bit
and the deck lid closes a little harder than it should.

009 mechanical advance distributor, new fuel pump, new carburator, new coil and more.
Mechanically the Bus is excellent. Brakes were all done at the time of the restoration,
transmission shifts smoothy, clutch is recent and it is a turn key ready to drive and enjoy vehicle.

New voltage regulator, new battery (with custom battery hold down filler (a chunk of 2x4)

Just a little dust in the engine compartment, but as you can see this was all painted fresh when the Bus was restored.

Passenger side front fender well shows one tiny spot of bubbling just behind the tire...
you can just make out the crack in the undercoating in this photo. This is the only rust I found during inspection of the car.

Drivers side looks great.

Up under the front is super dry.
Probably couldnt hurt to undercoat this area to keep it nice...but as you can see there is nothing to hide.

Back up top everything is as pretty as can be.

Inside is excellent as well.
Very clean dashboard, nice restored steering wheel.
An original radio is included with the sale of the Bus.

Excellent panels in the correct materials and design.

Seats are excellent as well.

Solid floors.

Clean foot area, nice new rubber mat.

Rear passenger area is also done well.

Nice solid floors

Excellent headliner

Correct middle seat with the grab handles.

No luggage rail on the back seat but all the jailbars are present and accounted for.
German square weave carpet on the rear deck.

Check out that reflection in the paint...nice!

Body trim has all the end caps in place.

Here's a little paint chip near the trim on one side.(this has been touched up now)

Excellent wheels and tires with nice shiny hubcaps and stainless trim rings.

In closing this is a gorgeous Bus suitable for show or go.
Its well done with a good solid history, it looks runs and drives excellent
and will be a fabulous addition to any collection.
With VW Bus prices climbing the way they are these days it is a sound investment as well.
