1965 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale

SOLD!!

This wonderful Fontana Grey 1965 Beetle Sedan is located in Southern California
in the hands of a passionate collector that is in the process of downsizing.
He loves it dearly, but it is time for it to find a new home.

Its a really beautiful example that is very stock and proper.
It has a nice selection of period accessories such as the mud flaps, rear grille trim and pop out quarter windows.

Just as sweet as can be.

The wide whitewalls look great and the black California plates give a hint to its history.

The photos don't do the car justice.
It really draws the admiring comments and smiles out on the road.

One of the most special parts about the car is that the ownership and service has been so well documented.
Large pile of receipts and a great little notebook with everything hand written during on past owner's long run with the car.

I have found that cars that have been owned by folks that do this level of record keeping are
very well cared for and are a delight to own and drive.
Check out this sample of a couple of pages from 1990.  Oil changes marked along with oil weight, list of gaskets replaced,
plug gaps marked, etc.  The rebuilt transmission is a big bonus as well.

The current owner created this spreadsheet with some of the major component rebuilds as well as some past owner information.

The details are clean when you start looking close.
Nice clean bumper irons and hardware.

Looks clean and solid in the spare tire well

Original wiring cover, trunk liner, jack and tool roll are all present.

I love seeing these goodies still with the car.

The washer bottle still has the pressure sticker in place.

Matching two tone spare wheel

Accessory door sill trims and scuff guards are great.

Locking glove box door latch and under dash parcel tray are also nice accessories.
I love the red upholstery against the body color.

Dash looks superb
Nice period radio, correct steering wheel.

The VW logo mudflaps are great, I love the two tone wheels with the detail painted hubcaps.
German bumpers as well.

Rock solid original underneath.

Such a sweet ride!

Nice clean headliner.

Very clean and dry underneath.
Excellent tires

Definitely a dry climate car!

The front seats are slightly newer models with the release lever on the side.

Locking glove box latch.

I think what is going on here is that the door panels are from a 68 or newer car and the black trim
under the door handle covers over the larger hole for the later door handle.
Its cleanly done, but obviously is not 100% factory.

Very nice horn button.

Super clean in the door jams

Gravel guards

Fuel gauge

Nice and clean in the rear seat area.

Rear deck lid has a later Volkswagen script fitted.

Correct license plate light.

Volkswagen script on the front hood.

Reverse lights fitted to the bumper are another nice addition.

Pop out quarter windows

Fantastic original radio

Very clean car inside and out

Out back the engine is very clean

12 volt electrics.

Bosch 009 distributor.
The car runs and drives excellent according to the owner.

In closing this is a nice clean machine with a very good soul.
Rock solid, very well maintained with fantastic records and ready to go to a new caring home.
