1971 VW Bus For Sale

This Southern California based Bay Window is a really beautiful bus.
Enthusiast owned and impeccably cared for, very nice quality restoration done

The paint and body was done in 2014 for the previous owner who had been its caretaker
since around 1990. The quality of the work is excellent and best of all
underneath it all the Bus is an extremely solid example as you will see with the chassis shots.

The current owner bought it in 2023 and put his focus on getting the interior to the same quality as the exterior.
in 2024 the whole inside was done and the overall package it shows very well.

Blue California plates have been on it since the 70's.
Originally yellow and white, during its restoration it was painted
this gorgeous teal/turquoise that really fits it so well.

All body seals and such were replaced and there is a very good attention
to detail all the way around.

Lights and lenses are all very nice and clean.

Smooth and shiny down the sides, very nice work

Glass is all excellent with new weatherstripping, etc.

I love seeing things done cleanly like this...hardware and seals on the bumper are
not painted over, new step rubber on the bumper ends.

Check out that reflection!!
This is one straight Bus!!

Rocker panels are super clean

Nice to see undisturbed original spot weld dimples along the edge...signs that what is under
that paint is unmolested and original metal.

Roof and gutters are all super clean as well.

Very solid and clean

Wheels have been painted to match the upper body and bumpers.
Very nice tires and chrome hubcaps

The interior was all done in 2024 and it looks fantastic!

Steering wheel is super clean, excellent dashboard.

All seats are present and in the original spots.

Front inner panels and surrounding areas all very clean and well detailed.

Original floors underneath the mat show to be extremely solid and straight.

Rear cargo area all very clean. Nice headliner, correct hinge covers, and a nice spare wheel cover as well.

Walk thru front seats and all the surrounding panels and mats look superb

Door panels with the deluxe arm rest / vent box in excellent condition.
New door seals, nice clean door jams, etc.

Seats are excellent!

Very clean

This one really shows well inside and out!
So clean!

Even the bottoms of the doors are cleanly finished...nice work

Odometer reads just over 76k miles.
Its been driven very minimally since its restoration.
Always well stored and pampered to keep it nice.

The engine room is very clean and the dual port 1600cc engine runs excellent.
12 volt electrics with an alternator and mechanical advance distributor.
Carburetor was rebuilt about 1000 miles ago. service records and details available.

Clean and solid in the corners

Battery area looks clean and solid as well

Dry underneath the engine and transmission.

Very solid, original and untouched underneath.
Factory undercoating remains intact and while there are a few spots of
surface rust here and there it all looks incredibly solid and un-welded.

Looks like axles and shocks were replaced at some point not long ago

Front splash pan in nice solid shape

Super dry example!
I also love that it was left untouched rather than blasted with fresh
undercoating that could hide any sins or repairs.
With it untouched and original you can clearly see how solid it is.

Fantastic!

Back out to the shiny side the view is just so pretty.

I love this one, the colors, the quality of the refinishing and the obviously
excellent basis underneath it all.

Ready for fun...just turn the key and go and plan extra time for
answering questions and compliments everywhere you go in this one!

1971 is such a great year for the Bay Window Busses as well.
The last year for the simple upright 1600cc engine, first year for disc brakes
and still with the low front turn signals and smaller taillights.
I think this is a Bus that will make its next owner very happy.
Its definitely one to be proud of!
