1970 VW Type 3 Squareback For Sale

This is a fantastic true "survivor" original California car.
Original paint, phenomenal documentation of service and ownership.
Very well preserved and a delightful driver.

All original paint...sure it has some stone chips and a little fade in spots, but they only add to the charm
of the car. The body is very straight and solid, the chrome is bright and clean
and everything works as it should.

Never hit , no bondo, all virginal and straight

Original tool roll

Original jack

The fiber trunk liner is still in place and quite clean.

Under hood paint shines like new

Blue California plates

One crack in the dash pad

Dash and steering wheel are in great shape and are totally stock and un-altered.

I love this original instruction sticker on the dash.

Odometer reads 62,800 miles, but according to the documentation and service records, has turned past once.

The seats were redone once during it's life in a very cool two tone

Carpet looks to be original as it has all the trims and heel pads in place.

Door panels are nice and clean and the front seats look good too.

Minimal wear to the carpet

I love this seat treatment

They even did the buttons at the top of the backs as original.

Underneath the car is quite solid and straight

Floor pans are superb and are all original

The biggest rust spot on the car is this very small bit at the base of the passenger side front fender.
The rest is dreamy!

A couple pin sized bubbles at the top of the fender

The chassis is perfect...super solid and not banged up

Engine and trans have some normal road grime but it is nice to see all the proper bits in place under here.

Headliner is in great shape

The original engine has been professionally rebuilt once during it's life
and it maintains all the proper stock parts in place...original fuel injection system works well
and it is a very strong and smooth runner.

Im sure this would detail out quite well with a little effort.

Body is wonderfully straight and the original paint shines well.

Its a good looking car.  It is hard to find them totally stock like this.

There are a couple spots where the paint has lightly faded through like the top of the license plate light

Another headliner shot...sure looks nice!

Very nice door panels

Original glove box is also in wonderful shape and the hood release handle is firm and functions like it should.

This AM/FM radio is not currently working...the owner has not attempted to figure out why.

The only other item that is not working is the original clock which stopped many many years ago.
I do understand however that despite this...it is still right on time at least twice a day.

Very straight car...there are a couple of small dings in spots, but they dont jump out at you.
There is one in this image just under the door handle and underneath the body trim.
Im sure a paintless dent removal guy could massage most of these out of the car (there are not many)
if you wanted to make it look as nice as possible...but for me they all add to the originality.

Numper and taillights are in great shape...all the glass is nice, the rubber seals seem to be holding up well.

The top of the passenger side fender has some fade through

The rest of the paint still holds a nice shine.

Original owners manual is present.

A truly massive stack of service records document the whole life of the car.

Here is the engine rebuild receipt from 1994

They go on and on.
This car has been very very well cared for during it's life.
It has had the same owner for nearly it's whole life and has been a well loved member of the family.

The owner even put together this wonderful letter explaining all of the details of the car
as well as tips for driving and care...he obviously really loved this car!

I love the end of this letter...
I wish more people cared as much for their things these days.

Dealer service stamps fill the service books

All the way up until just shy of 100,000 miles it was religiously serviced by the dealer.

Same owner all these years...gotta love it.

Even a copy of the original pink slip from 1970.

In closing...I really love cars like this.
I would so much rather have a well preserved original car than one that has been restored...they are only original once and you can
really see, feel and smell the history of the car. No "angry hands" have been on this one,
it has always been loved and treated right...and that is a MAJOR bonus for this car!
