1966 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale

If you had a time machine and went back 40 years and bought a 6 month old Beetle
from the original owner...it would be like this car is right now.
It really is impressive.

The car is located in Oceanside California and is in the hands of a very detail oriented
VW collector who always seems to have the cleanest stock Beetles you could ever imagine.
The car was originally delivered in South Carolina , obviously was used sparingly and stashed away in a tomb.
A few years back it was exhibited at the AACA National Meet on the East Coast
where it was awarded a National First Prize
which is a pretty high honor indeed.

The only thing that I see off the bat that is not as it came from the factory are the radial tires.
They are brand new and have the proper width whitewall and are a vast improvement handling wise
than the original bias ply tires...and if it had the original 40 year old tires on it, you wouldnt want to drive on them.
So this is a non-issue in my book.

The spare tire well is gorgeous.

Original paint code sticker in place, everything clean and detailed.

Original trunk liner and fiberboard wiring cover.
Original tool roll and jack are present.

Wiring is spotless.

All latches and such still shine with the original finish.

The plating on these parts always fade and grey out over time...not this car...look how clean and bright the hood latch is!

Sweet.

The interior is stunning and is the best example of an all red interior as I have ever seen.
In 66 VW put out a couple of color optios for interior that had not been done before.
They had the all red interior and an all blue interior, both are quite rare today.
The seat frames, floor mats, carpet and upholstery were matched.

Showroom condition...and note the couple of cool factor accessories
like the parcel tray under the dash and the handbrake cover...neat!

All original upholstery looks great.
Seat cushions are firm and everything is spot-on original.

The all red floor mat is in amazing condition.
Ive seen a few of these before but they always seem to darken from the sun..not this example.

Seat frames were color matched, all original finish and amazigly clean.

The condition of the carpet is insane... wow!

Really cool accessory mat in red in the back too...plus the original mat below it.

The stainless trim door sills and post protectors.

Under the mats it is excellent.

Battery area is clean and proper.

Accessory rear speaker was a dealer installed option.

Factory sunroof car, superb original headliner.

I have never seen one of these sunroof handles so clean.

Crank open the sunroof and let in those rays!

Accessory vent visors over the front windows.
Pop out rear quarter windows are also a nice accessory, especially for a sunroof car.

The word "spotless" comes to mind.
Its really exciting to me to see a car this nice that is all original.
What an amazing find!

Numbers matching original 1300cc engine is super clean and proper.
And of course the car runs and drives as good as it looks.
Once you have driven a low mileage original car like this you are spoiled forever.
Everything else will pale in comparison.

Under the decklid is superbly clean.

No tweaks or anything funky, everything fits as it should.

Backsides of the bumpers are super clean too.

The original 1300 emblem, a 66 only item for the US.

This is a car that is truly hard to find fault with.

Window rubbers are still soft and supple.

Underside of the car is clean and pretty too.

Nice smooth undercoating seals it all and keeps it nice.

In closing this is a car that is hard to describe in words.
The photos tell the story clearly, this is perhaps one of the finest all original 66 Beetles in the country.
It has clean and clear and complete documentation and has been awarded high praise from the collector car world...
and it is easy to see why. It is downright gorgeous.
