1966 VW Deluxe Microbus For Sale

The hottest thing in the VW scene right now seems to be the split
screen Busses.
The value of them have been climbing consistantly for quite some time
and there seems
to be no end in sight. The prefect restoration examples are bringing
big money
and finding a good solid example for a reasonable price is getting
harder each day.

This Bus is an original paint hardtop Deluxe model from 1966 in Sea
Blue and Blue White.
It is a solid one, not a show car, but it is pretty honest and straight
and it is a good runner and driver
according to the owner.

It is located in Colorado and a lot of work has gone into making it a
good runner and fun play toy for the owner.
The exterior was left alone while the interior has been updated and
customized to the owners tastes.

The Bus seems very solid...the floors did have some surface rust so
this was cleaned and treated
and the floor was painted with a black sealer.

New door seals have been installed and the seats have all bee redone.

The original jack is down in the storage pit..

Brand new tires including the spare.

Safari windows have been added.
The dash and interior sheet metal has been resprayed and looks very
clean.

Shifter has a nice extension, modern audio unit mounted under the dash.

New grab handle, original clock

Dash is very clean and stock.

The seats have been done in a 50's style blue and white tuck and roll.
Very nicely done and in great shape.

Door panels done to match.

Stock wheels have been repainted.

Looks really solid in the fenderwells.

Original paint in the engine compartment...would probably polish up
with a little effort.

Rear apron is a bit scratched up but still in first paint

original air cleaner in place.

Gas tank has been removed and cleaned and repainted.

I'd love to hit this with a little polish...you know it will clean up!

Dual port 1600cc engine runs well.
12 volt electrics.

Rear deck is freshly carpeted.

Headliner looks like new!
Modern domelight installed.

Cute curtains.

Very clean inside.

Rear panels all done to match the front.

Looks nice!

The owner is big into Scotty dogs and has the theme running throughout.
The flip up round table has photos of his dogs layered into it.

The original interior is gone in the back so the owner installed these
custom recliners.
Not everybody's cup of tea but certainly a comfy spot to chill out and
relax.

New window rubber all around.

There is some paint cracking on the drivers side rear corner...must
have been a small repair here at one point..

The roof has some fade through and a couple of dents.

But overall quite nice.

Bumpers have been repainted.

New mirror arm and mirror.
Filler rubber on the body trim is new.

Really nice and solid in the wheel arches.

There is some damage on the forward edge of the drivers side arch.

New horn.
The front corners of the floor have been replaced on each side...looks
like they were riveted in rather than being welded.

Just surface rust in the factory finish underneath

Rockers look pretty good...nice dry Bus.

Patina... a positive word for a negative thing.

The original paint thing is a positive in many people's eyes.
They are only original once...once you respray that history is covered
over.

Scuff on the rearward cargo door.

Surface rust but solid!

Nice!

Steering box has been serviced.

Brake lines look recent.

New master cylinder, new drag link.

Here you can see the bottom side of the passenger front floor...patched
but sound.

Inner nose looks solid.

Headlights look fresh.

Bumpers and wheels painted cleanly.

It has a very good "old stocker" look to it on the outside.
A Bus that can tell you some stories..

The bumper is a little digned up in the center...just painted over.

Windows have a light tint to them.

Exhaust is a custom 4 tip affair...looks like the bumper was trimmed to
fit.

Open up and ready for play.

The classic VW Bus and in a great color combo too!

Another added interior bit that is included is this portable 8 track
tape player!!
Vintage 8 track player mounted in a box with speakers...runs on 12
volts.
In this photo you can see the table in the up position.

The rear recliner seats also fold flat and turn into a sleeping
platform.

Here they are layed out flat...a huge spot to have a nap!

The unholstery has embroidered Scotty dogs ...

The floor is nice checkered vinyl, the walls all filled with sound
deadener material.
Keeps the inside very quiet!

Front floors also covered with the sound deadener material.

All in all it seems to be a decent Bus.
No serious rust or body damage, just minimal flaws here and there.
The thing is well sorted mechanically and has a clean interior.
If the custom stuff inside is not your style, an original interior
could be fitted easy enough
and if you arent into the patina of original paint, it looks to be a
simple body to prepare for paint.

Drive it and enjoy it as it is...or build it the way you like it.
Either way this looks to be a Bus with very good bones to it!
