This 1969 Fastback comes to us from Idaho where it is in the hands of
its 2nd owner who inherited the car in 1986 from his aunt who had purchased
it new at Downtown LA Volkswagen in 1969.

The car retains its original paint everywhere but the drivers side door and front fender
that were resprayed in the mid 1980's.

The interior of the car is very clean with a new carpet kit nice VW logo floor mats
and clean original door panels. This car features the rare automatic transmission
which is fully functional and drives very well.

Front and rear trunks are pleasingly clean and unrestored.
Original bumpers shine bright but do have some dings and dents.

Original trunk liner in great shape and the engine lid latch logos
still read clearly.

There are some bumps and scrapes on the body that detract a little from the overall curb appeal
but with the paintwork being original, its a slippery slope to spot repair.
It might be possible to have some of this massaged out by a good paintless dent removal tech
if you wanted to maintain the original finish...or just dive in and paint and repair as desired.

A scuff on the passenger side front fender

Headliner looks impressive if it truly is all original.

Dash pad does have a couple cracks.
New window rubber and a new windshield installed recently

New liner material on the rear deck.

Dash shows the dealer installed A/C system
as well as an AM/FM Cassette radio with equalizer (both currently disconnected).

All original paint on the dashboard and interior.

Bumpers have the accessory rubber trims and
the license plate frames are from the original LA VW dealership where it sold new.

Another small scratch on the drivers rear fender.

Out back is a recently rebuilt 2020cc performance engine built by Chico Performance with dual carbs
modern alternator and more. The engine produces 116hp on the dyno and
the car easily cruises at highway speeds.
The transmission has also been rebuilt, the front end also recently redone
This is a very nice and easy driver.

Pop out quarter windows

Seat upholstery looks great!

Nice dash and stock steering wheel with blue sport wrap.
Drivers seat is showing a little wear to the edge and the springs
are getting a little soft.

Good looking Fasty!

BF Goodrich T/A radials wrapped around very clean "Riviera" wheels
with VW logo center caps.

A couple tiny spots of surface rust emerging on the drivers door.
There  is also a little surface rust under the rear bumper on the valance
and a couple spots under the headlights up front about the size of a dime.

Rear valance has some paint damage...and of course the dent in the bumper.
Nice ceramic coated exhaust system.

Solid underneath

Under the front hood is super clean

Nice original trunk liner.

Original paint code sticker and inspection tag.

New windshield

Nice car!

Details of the body bruises

The pan is very solid and even the battery area looks perfect according to the seller.

Side mirror looks like its from a VW Bus?

I do love that simple, happy face of the Type 3 model line.

Neat car with a nice blend of originality, fully known history
and freshly rebuilt mechanicals. The horsepower boost will
help keep up with the fast paced world of today and that automatic transmission
will make traffic time a real pleasure.
