1969 VW Double Cab with Porsche 911 Power For Sale

This Seattle based 1969 Double Cab is a very clean driver level truck that
shows minimal age and wear and appears overall very stock and simple.

The chrome wheels with Porsche 356 hubcaps  are a light diversion from stock
but the ride height remains proper, not lowered like those punk kids like to do things (lol)

I just like the overall look of this one...no frills, no wild colors
just a clean old utilitarian hauler for doing what trucks do.

My favorite part about the truck is that the mild mannered exterior hides a secret.

That secret is a 6 cylinder Porsche 911 engine!

Ill get into the details of the mechanics in a bit, but lets continue the walk around.

Very nice clean and straight body

Solid chassis and lower body panels.

The truck has a long California history and spent a lot of time in dry storage.

The wow factor of course is the drivetrain which was professionally done back in the 1980's
by Aase Brothers in Southern California for a good friend and client.
The truck was parked in 1984 and remained in storage until 2012 when the current owner,
a German auto mechanic and member of the Porsche Club of America's Technical Committee
took the car on and went through it and has used it for an occasional parts runner for his shop.

The truck features an early 901 Porsche 4 speed transmission from a 911.
The engine case dates to a 1970 911T.

Front end shows recent tie rod ends and such.
The truck is definitely a turn key driver that runs strong and drives straight.

Small little spot of treated rust on one of the side gates

Bed looks impressively solid and clean

Porsche instrumentation neatly fitted into the dash.

Body tag present and clean and clear paperwork

Chrome wheels and caps with nice radial tires

I love the simplicity of the engine instal...it just looks like it was always in there!

The engine runs the stock Zenith carbs and has the Porscche oil tank and filter
neatly tucked to the side.

Battery mounted on the drivers side

Well tuned and maintained.
Mileage is unknown on the engine but it runs fantastic.

Couple more photos of the bed and side gates

Interior remains very stock and simple

Cab is clean and simple much like the exterior.

Original headliner

Nice fit to the gauges

Upholstery in nice shape with minimal wear

Original door panels

And back to a walk around of the exterior.

Such a sleeper, so freakin cool.

I really dig this old truck

Cool history, well stored and well maintained and tuned in its current hands.

Ive not had a chance to drive this one personally but I have driven other 911 swapped
Bay Window Busses and Ive gotta say it is a really fun experience
to stab that go pedal and feel that 911 power!!

Not the sort of ride you stumble into every day...and
even if you did, you would have no clue that it is such a wild thing
under that very mild vanilla exterior!
